6 + 2 Point Deductions

The Manure Show rolls on.

Looks like retrospective forgiveness for Shareholder loans in proposed new regulations.

They need to be legged if they want to carry this crap on. The Premier League have accused City of "meritless threats of further legal action."

With phrasing like "strong desire is to avoid any future costly legal disputes (it is) critical that the Premier League gets it right this time round", some might say they're resorting to financial 'leverage' and 'intimidation.'

All power to City, I say. Without City we'd have all been enduring unbridled kopite dominance on a par with the 70's and 80's, and we'd continue to endure such dominance for decades into the future. Plus, the PL were our arch enemy not so long ago, so I'm happy to see City tie them up in knots.
Also can see this putting aot of pressure on other teams who will have to find ways around no having shareholder loans. With low capacity ground player trading with be massive

The difference between our beef with the PL and City`s was we were in a self man financial mess but were doing our very best to abide by the PL rules and gave the PL a heads up on our position, whereas City gave two fingers to the rules and did what they liked.

And will probably get away with it because they have proper legal representation with multiple competent shagger silks where as the lone Shagger Silk that we hired was a charlatan.

I'd love nothing more than for the Arabs to be sent packing. If people thought we fell miles behind the RS and Man U after the inception of the PL, then wait and see what happens if these nation states continue to own clubs and find ways to financially dope.

It's just gonna kill all hope any further. We will still be playing catch up with the RS and utd. We still be playing catch up with Arsenal, Chelsea and arguably Spurs, but they will all be playing catch up with the Saudi's and City.

If football gets to the point where you need more or similar financial clout to the Saudi's, then we might as well pack up and call it a day.

I think it hints at an overall impartiality mate, the PL have an alliance with the likes of Utd, Mordor and Arsenal.

Difficulty that brings is they marginlise other club who increasingly carry weight in world football, either through growing profile, resources or a political lobby.

Eventually that lack of impartiality will eat itself and the league alive.

Other clubs will be caught in the crossfire like us and Forrest last season.

I'm just sick of the whole thing mate. 6 title winners this side of the millennium, we might have a 7th at some point in the next 25 years, maybe an 8th, if you know, something 'crazy' happens.

VAR

Legal battles with nation states.

Agents.

Rule changes that seemingly fans, players and coaches have little to no say in.

Clubs up and down the country going bust on the regular.

Just sick of it all mate, and this mob who are currently top of the tree in our football pyramid are trouble-makers-in-chief.

Did I mention I'm just sick of it?

The games been slowly strangled mate. I think supporting a club now is more about indigenous belonging, culture and identification rather then competition.

Competition is dead or its relative. Being very honest, i dont care about the title race, most weeks i couldn't tell you who is top of the league or last season didn't know who was going to win the title until last few weeks. I dont really care - what does that say about the evolution of the league or how its run and these PAS charges just go further in disenfranchising football fans. I love the game in general so if ive gotten to this level of apathy many have.

Where do i find joy now? Just supporting my club, in young players breaking through, i admire something like what Villa did last season and i actually enjoy the Championship more then i do the PL as a competition, basically anything with sporting integrity. There is still a bit of romance in the game if you care to find it.

But the dice are loaded and no mistake in the PL, at our level its not competition any more and its very hard to achieve objectives sustainably even if you are the very best at what you do.

The PL id dead in my opinion, we are more likely to win a European Trophy as the Title now, but the PL will eventually eat itself alive. Im over it, beyond us.

You're probably right mate. As things stand it's just becoming boring and those at the top just want more and more of the pie. It doesn't matter to them that their success is built upon the English game. It doesn't occur to them that without the multitude of huge clubs in this country, and the passion for the game, then the Premier League wouldn't have been half the product it was when it was unleashed upon mass tv audiences.

It doesn't occur to them that they as clubs have endured many lean years throughout their history, and that if they had by chance been going through another period in the doldrums in this era, then they would have had the ladder pulled up on them.

They started carving it up many years ago with the inception of first the Champions League and the seeding policy. Then G14 took things further. They're still after more of the pie, and they're already at the top.

And then there's poor old Man City, the club who've outspent everybody, taking legal action because they can't spend even more. Gobshites.

This season there`s a lot of coverage of the EFL on Sky and having watched a good few games since the start of the season you can see a big difference in the games. In the PL too many teams are afraid of losing and are happy to go into a game set up to not lose and hope to get a win, whereas in the EFL there seems to be more of a lets go and win it approach. Its refreshing to be able to sit watching a game with two teams trying to win a game than watching two trying not to lose it.
Given the choice I don`t bother watching PL other than when our brave lions take the field in an effort to ruin our weekends.
