6 + 2 Point Deductions

Is it. Have not looked for a bit. but it was reported by so many last month that they thought it would be march due to so much evidence to go through etc
Just had a little look, 1 crap source says end of Jan, Sky say March, few places say Feb, some say the spring, but all state its likely to be delayed, so yeah, probably not end of Jan.

They're expecting them to not be able to apply anything either, as they forsee appeals..

That never mattered to us or Notts Forest.
We had to deal with the 10 points until it wasn't 10 points. City should have to deal with their punishment until a successful appeal or otherwise. If that's relegation, then so be it, relegate them. They can't be treating them any differently because they've done worse things.

By the way, one upshot of yesterday's takeover here is that if the PL hit us with any sanctions, they can expect to be sued to kingdown come by own new overlords.

There was no coincidence that we were hit with draconian sanctions when we were on our knees administratively. This club was defenceless in the face of the PL's assault. Look at how Forest got a much lesser sanction and Leicester none at all. We were like an open goal. Not any more...
Important that we aren't pushed around anymore. Think we were bullied recently in all honesty.

The best punishment for City would be deducting them ten points for every season they are found to have broken the rules, then applying it over the same amount of future seasons.

So if they are found to have broken the rules in eight seasons, for the next eight seasons they start on -10 points. Being disadvantaged for an amount of time equivalent to that they were cheating is fairer than them having one or two tough seasons, before continuing to dominate as if nothing had happened.

Maybe, but minus 10 for every charge from the relevent season. So, for 9 seasons, start on -127, Regardless of division they find themselves in. Assuming they're found guilty of them all. Should see them down 9 steps of the ladder over 9 years. Then 9 to come back up if they have it in them. See how Pep manages in the Northern counties prem. They may get lucky and get a big game in the FA cup.

They can appeal for a points per charge if they really want, make it 6 points per charge.

I'm more bothered about the remaining case hanging over us (to do with the accounting treatment of some interest payments). I wonder when that will be heard? It's all gone very quiet on that front.

I hope the City case brings about huge changes to the rules. Man U have huge amounts of debt, but seem untouchable? How?! The rules aren’t fit for purpose clearly. It sucks that we were punished the way we were, but it would be nice if we able to spend big in the future, without fear of being punished. If a clubs owner has £ to spend, why shouldn’t they be able to spend it? It seems like only the most successful, with the biggest revenue streams, are able to spend big. And we aren’t in that position at present, and might not be for some time yet. The antics of self entitled Man U grind on me much more than the rule breaking of City tbh. The whole thing stinks, changes are needed to make things more competitive again, and punishing City won’t necessarily make that happen.
