6 + 2 Point Deductions

Everton officials are set to come “face to face” with Premier League CEO Richard Masters just days after the club were hit by a 10-point deduction for a profit and sustainability breach, Paul Joyce reports.

According to the Times journalist for the paper’s website on 20 November acting Toffees chief executive Colin Chong will be representing the club at the league’s shareholders meeting on Tuesday 21 November.

Is that the planned meeting where the top six give themselves more money ?

First question should be

"Who was the bright spark telling the INDEPENDENT commission to give a 12 point deduction and leak it to the media ? "

Simon Jordan made a good point.

The PL since 2021 has had to approve the registration of every single one of our player signings.

A seeming condition of doing so was that the purchase would then provide an updated PSR position and balance sheet. Why are they approving signings that would take Everton over a breach?
This is spot on. The stance that the PL made in the commissions findings was more ludicrous than the insinuation certain journos this week have made of the clubs stance on covid and the war in Ukraine of which the UK government have published numerous reports outlining the impact of those events on business, inflation and almost everything to do with finance. Can’t have it both ways and shows how this tin pot organisation of crooks needs calling out.

So what are they monitoring and signing off our player purchases against then?
If, as we are lead to believe, they had say in what we could do, relating to purchases then it would make sense they have a model in place to show P and L projections based on signings?
It’s possible they did. But it was based on incorrect treatment of the stadium interest costs. The PL can only base their decision on the information EFC provides. If it’s incorrect, misleading or aggressive, thats the responsibility of EFC.

The PL is not a trustee, they did not have control over all spending at EFC (everyone is focused on player sales but there are obviously other expenses).

I didn't say the P&L. Balance sheet.
Moot point but if they can't monitor it against something why are they signing off our purchases?

According to Jordan EFC were in special measures, one such was that each transaction had to be approved by the PL and the club provide detail on why they are in no worse position financially.
What Jordan said was that every transaction ie selling Digne and buying Mykolenko had to leave Everton in a better financial position that's true but went on to say that because there is no real time financial info the PL could not know at any given time whether Everton were in breach or not.
He did say that working hand in glove with the PL was substantial mitigation

I’d rather Donald Trump represented the club at that hearing over that glorified bricklayer

Let me just have this right a second….

I am all for this let’s get behind making the Premier League look corrupt as I do believe it is. I have said for a few years they have tried to relegate us and some people on here have laughed at me. However, so far in this whole scenario, haven’t the Premier League actually done nothing but accept what the independent commission told them to do? Or am i completely wrong here.
Pretty much sums it up. The club even admitted the breach but some of our fanbase can't see the wood for the trees.

We have been found guilty of breaking FFP rules by an Independent panel.

They've looked at the facts and made their decision. The only thing that is corrupt is the way this club has been run by the Iranian Del Boy.

For about a year now the fans have been banging on about how poorly this club has been run and that the board isn't fit for purpose and when a Independent panel finds this same corrupt, incompetent board guilty of breaking rules the fans are up in arms again thr Premier League rather that the people who are responsible for running the club.

If there are protests happening then it needs to be directed and the crooks running our club.

If the appeal manages to overturn Player X's non consideration, if we then consider that his £15m potential transfer fee, and the wages we had to pay till his contract expires sums the same as the reported overspend then this whole issue goes away. No overspend, no charge, no damages. Add in a little loss of USM Megafon sponsorship and we are tickety-flupperty- boo

We have admitted guilt.

All we will be contesting is the 10 point deduction.

But I don't think most are claiming we are innocent. We irrefutably are not, and therefore deserve a proportionate punishment.

The whole issue is how they've come to the level of punishment. It's not clearly justified in the report, has no precedent and the report itself is riddled with subjectivity to the point of rendering the scale of the points deduction totally disproportionate.

No one in their right mind would not point fingers at our absolutely disgraceful ownership, but that doesn't mean the severity of this punishment, and seemingly how its been arrived at, isn't to be questioned with the utmost urgency.
