6 + 2 Point Deductions

Obviously another who hasn’t read the report him.

Ian Wallace who was on the sky TV programme just after the John Cross statement/ opinion, agreed with Jon Cross Chief sports editor of the Mirror as did, funnily enough, the Deputy editor I think, of the Daily Mirror, they are all backing the integrity of the PL. We are in trouble here, they are all banding together. Apart from Martin Samuel and Sky shown one other sports editor backing Everton with his column.

Think the aggrieved clubs aren’t getting enough heat for this. Without their constant moaning and prodding the Premier League in my opinion would have done nothing.

Agree. It must not be overlooked, from all accounts the Independent Commission had a private meeting or meetings with those "aggrieved clubs" as far back as March... That information only came to light in the last week. The very same IC that has then ruled over Everton (after clear guidance by the PL) will then go and
rule over the case against Everton by those same aggrieved clubs, should they make a claim (within 28 days). Make of that what you will 👀

I can't make my mind up if this 10 points is as some say because they want Everton down, or if it is truly drawing a line in the sand to decimate Man City, Chelsea and others. Both scenarios seem dubious to me to be honest.
So why?
1 charge against us because we slightly overspent with massive mitigating circumstances draws 10 points, so what will City's 115 charges draw?
I truly believe it's either a knee jerk that will be rejected on appeal, or a carefully planned gamble to send out a huge warning shot to others.
Either way I'm certain the appeal will be successful with a reduction of the punishment.
I just can't see how they can leave it like it is. It is so far over the top it just can't stand up to scrutiny.

I know what you mean mate. I think the fact that we’ve got more pundit’s and ex players backing us will give them no option. Even Souness has come out in our favour (to be fair he’s usually supportive of us for some reason).

I do wonder if we've been a thorn in the side to some of the other clubs over the years. One of the big issues over the years, has been clubs wanting to sell individual tv rights. We've always been opposed to that.

We occupy a unique position, don't forget. There's 6 beloved clubs who are ever presents since the Premier League formed, and then there's also us, the stakeholders who have also spent more time in this top division than any of them.

It’s not unexpected though really….TV Channel awarded rights to show sports which they derive an income from was always going to side with their pay masters as opposed to one club which make up 5% of the membership.

It's a pre emptive strike against this afternoon, as whilst they will edit / censor what they can - social media will be awash with the protests and messages coming from Goodison. The noise has to come from social media as the TV was never going to be supportive.

They’ll all start to flip once they realise we aren’t going to take it lying down.

They didn't have the debt and general mayhem we'll have when / if we get relegated.

Fair point.

I still think it would be less disastrous than the stadium going tits up. Obviously the stadium is not gonna propel us into the echelons immediately, but it's a step in the right direction and will make us organically richer than we currently are.

My fears aren't based on us having to stay at Goodison, they're based on us investing £100's of millions on a stadium we can't use. If we'd not started this project, and it was now we were making the decision to start building, then I'd believe it to be an insane decision.

I’m skeptical of this, genuinely believe they will change the rules before either of them are done.
The P&S system is fundamentally unfair and restricts clubs who don’t earn hundreds of millions / billions on a global scale from competing.

Yeah. And we were vocal and made a stand against the Super League 6.
