6 + 2 Point Deductions

I'm a Leeds fan with a soft spot for Everton, but are you actually guilty? Was it done?

And I think you have more than enough to get away from the bottom 3.
It was interest payments on loans taken out to build the new stadium that tipped us just over. This is particularly annoying necause infrastructure development is meant to be excluded from P/L accounts!

Regardless of if we have enough to survive this season, its the bare faced corruption of the Premier league and their failure to hand out any punishment to any other club for rule breaks that's the real annoyance.

Other clubs are blatantly breaking rules and covering it up, while we cooperate and get stung for it...

So we’re claiming £9.5m, the PL state it’s £19.5m, and regardless it’s 10 points? It’s ridiculously high, I think had they went lower they’d have had every grounds.

I think by being so high, they’re leaving themselves open to an appeal and reduction. I think anything 7 or lower and we’d have had no grounds.

9 points for going bust
10 points for spending £19.5m more than you need to.

Doesn’t really add up does it?
Looking at the guidelines it's only a 2 point difference. I think we were lucky to get away with our inflated COVID losses tbh. Now I know what the scale of punishment is it could have been much worse, as I think we overinflated those by about £75 million.

Agree with those saying take the PL branding down at the ground, but I imagine that would be a further breach of league rules

We should absolutely do as little as we possibly can for the league going forwards though

Even if it's just small inconsequential things that we can avoid doing out of spite
Utterly ridiculous stance. You do realise that the Premier League is the biggest and arguably the best in the world commanding huge TV deals that we benefit from don't you? Talk about cutting your nose off to spite your face.

What I find hilarious is the PL want to use a system where any breach is automatically 6 points deduction plus 1 point for evey £5mill over that. The panel said they wouldn't have a system Imposed on them and they will make thier own decision and on the facts.

PL new system - 10 point deduction. (Based on what they proposed)
Panel decision - 10 point deduction.

Nice to see the panel made its own "independent" decision and didn't follow the PL's new system at all......

The Manager has to give interviews. But if I was Dyche, I would attend every interview and simply say 'I've got nothing to say. That is the full extent of this interview. Speak to the Chairman concerning matters relating to Everton from now on.', and walk off. Every time. Players should refuse to give interviews to the media, newspapers or TV. If an interviewer approaches them, they should turn their back and walk away.
Fergie refused with no points deductions if i remember rightly.

I'm fine with that. Walk out, make a brief pre-written out statement and walk off. All the backdrops that have the premier league logo I'd take some tape and cover those us, slight thing but makes a point.

The league have made an example out of us. Of course we shouldn't engage with them moving forward. We engaged with them throughout the process and it doesn't seem to have mattered.

It could be better to have a 10 point one now than a 6 point one next season so who knows if appealing is a good idea
The sanction has been applied immediately so assume until an appeal were to intervene that's the points situation that applies. If the appeal isn't heard before the end of the season then I assume the -10 would continue to apply. It will be heard before the end of the season though.

This is my concern. And literally just when things appeared to be improving in terms of results. It's a massive load of excrement shoved in the faces of everyone at the club. The manager and players getting the two fingers when they have collectively worked so hard. I'm not sure they or anyone else has the strength to recover from this. Its a stab straight in the heart.
The club wasn't formed when Dyche took the job. He knew what he was getting into and I rather doubt the players are that bothered as they pick up their fat pay cheques.
