6 + 2 Point Deductions

We might have another breach this month.
We can't.. the accounting period we've already been punished for finished less than 3 seasons ago.. surly they can't access 21/22 again and lump it in with last season and this season as a new 3 year period?

Think that's just with the league. They don't have to be made public till March

I would be hopeful that the trend is moving in a better direction for the period to June 23, since we sold Gordon for full profit and reinvested £0.
With 18/19 falling off the calculation and the player trading we did we’d have had to have messed up really badly to be over PSR for 22/23. Although you can’t rule that out obv.

Minor issue Tim.

We didnt reinvest £0.

We signed 5 players in The Summer and I can assure you none of them were free.

Even if you use just signing on fees, agents fees and a years wages, you are looking at 30-40m.

I've been a fan and on here a lot longer than you and I'm entitled to my views.

Who cares if you've been a member of the forum longer than him?

That's such a stupid flex to try and pull

How long you've been a member doesn't matter

What matters is what you bring to the discussion

If Nath has contributed more to the discourse since 2020 than you have since 2015, then your tenure just makes you look worse if anything, as he's clearly worked out this whole foruming thing quicker than you have

Maybe try and be better at discussion and debate instead of just going to the "I've been here longer than you so I'm automatically of more worth than you are because reasons" if you can't handle what Nath is bringing to the table? Just a thought

Can't say I really pay much attention to your posts normally, but that whole "longevity = better than you" stuff is so stupid and shouldn't be encouraged

Its the league I am bothered about. Like, I have little idea how the player trading get accounted for, no idea about how the 777 and the other mob loans are applied, nada, basically.

But. We cant use Covid, nor Iceland this time. Hope you are on the money and Gordon saves us.

I don't think we signed any of them before the end of the June 23 accounting period (correct me if wrong). We also sold more players in the summer transfer window, like Iwobi etc.

I'm just thinking of the accounting period in question which was up to June. Any signings or sales from July on will only fall in the June 24 period

I dont know mate. I always thought it was a 3 year rolling period, as in, you start afresh every 3 years. It matters not what I think, but accounts will be submitted by NYE. (God knows when mind).

So how many of previous signings payments did we make then?

Transfer fees are paid over a period of time, normally 24months, so any players bought in the previous 24 months would have needed paying before June 23.

Im not asking that question to be an arse, you cant answer that, nobody can without a full inspection of the accounts.

Which is why I laugh when people talk about "cash down" like they have any idea of how a Transfer actually works, I include myself in that by the way, I have no idea how a transfer actually works.

Won't the next period be.. 22/23.. 23/24 (this season) and 24/25?
If we are getting close by next summer then Branthwaite will be sold..

Transactions are accounted for when the deal is done, not when the cash is received.

If you buy a player, you recognise an asset at the total price you will pay. You then write down (amortise) the value over length of contract - this is a cost to your P&L. Isn't it capped at 5 years now? Maybe, I think I read that anyway because of the 8 year contracts etc.

If you sell a player, you recognise a gain or loss based on what you receive less their book value. The gain or loss hits the P&L.

When fees are paid is still very important, but it's a cash flow issue more than accounting

That would be what I said.. 21/22 has already been accessed... so 22/23..23/24..24/25 is the next period which we are just about half way through at the moment. So we can't fall foul of rules this month or even next year.

I was under the impression it's a rolling 3 year cycle with one year in, one year out, each year. Not 3 year blocks of time.
