6 + 2 Point Deductions

Love the way everybody is telling everybody they dont have a clue when none of us actually have a clue.

The only people who know are the 4 or 5 people on the appeals board who already know the decision.
There's a lot at stake for the Premier League. They've been seen as a joke organisation that the clubs run rings around and they're trying to prove they have teeth.

And if we get a -5 point deduction we’ve still been heavily punished haven’t we? I wouldn’t accept that, I don’t think it’s fair. But I think the people writing off any points back are just doom mongering for the sake of it and trying to prepare themselves to claim anything back as a win. It wouldn’t for me, I want them all back, but accept that any outcome is possible.

I'm not writing it off at all and I agree with you we should have been given a fine of about £5 million. My hope is that they reduce the deduction to 3 points which, while still punitive, would be a fairer reflection of the supposed advantage we gained. We shall see what happens but we can't rely on getting any points back

What punishment do you think would be fair?

Well, we thought interest payments were allowable as a deduction prior to the hearing, during the hearing we were told they were not. At best, it is an honest mistake, at worst, its changing the rules. And bearing in mind we have worked with the PL for the 2 (?) years prior, what do you reckon?
I thought we lied regarding the interest payments?

We said we paid interest when we didnt due to the loans being interest free from Moshiri?

The rules, as far as im aware, never changed.

I`ve seen supporters, not just on here, saying what deduction they would accept. I wouldn`t accept any points deduction. The commissions decision to impose 10 points deduction is unlawful in European law which the PL are answerable to by their association with UEFA.

I know we have broke the rules but there was no transparent and structured punishment in place. Yes we may have been guilty and we should get off with a fine because the PL didn`t have their house in order.

It`s a bit like the the SLY 6, no rules or punishments for what they did , so they got away with it albeit a small fine, there is now.

UEFA fined City instead of expelling them from European competition, not because they weren`t guilty because they were but half the evidence was too old, they got off on a technicality.

With the news of the ESL ruling by the European court this should add many many ways to wiggle out of this on technicalities if our lawyers are switched on.

I`m hopeful but you never know.

You may be right mate. But my understanding was that the second we were told the payments were not allowed, we held our hands up. If that was a downright lie, then do us. Cant lie your way round a set of accounts.

That's my understanding, that we found out we were over and tried to claim interest payments on an interest free loan to try and get us under the £105 million

Interest payments for loans on the new stadium are deductable and we will be able to do that with the loan from MSP.

But the loans we tried to claim for interest payments were classed as working capital in the records.

There were rules for Profit and Sustainability and we broke them
