6 + 2 Point Deductions

i don’t think it’s that odd. I think it’s very odd you think if we get our points back that other clubs will just clap justice has been served.

Why am I arsed?. It’s a forum in case you didn’t notice so lots of people post their opinions. Sorry if you don’t like mine.

Who cares what they say? I don’t care what they say. I just think they will put in appeals against us, legal claims everywhere, and a never ending cycle of who’s got the most money to pay for the best legal time.

I just feel slightly embarrassed for those who think the points will actually come back, just coz some flashy lawyers on Twitter pull up some legal jargon.

Where have I said that? All I’ve said is, who cares if they bitch and cry, they don’t actually have a leg to stand on and are a complete irrelevance. Why do you care so much if Luton and Burnley fancy themselves as so crap that they can’t survive without a team suffering a 10 point deduction?

You think they’ll put in a legal claim? On what basis? Please provide an actual case they could put forward against us for us winning an appeal and having points that we’ve fairly won returned to us. You’re clearly a legal expert so this shouldn’t be hard for you.

I’ll repeat again just in case you’re hard of reading/hearing - this case has absolutely nothing to do with those clubs

Its incredible to me that so many are assuming there'll be points handed back to us.

Like a security blanket pulled up around them to keep the real world at bay.
I did think we'd get some back, but every time the opposition fans sing about us cheating I think it lessens the chances as the Premier League know that other teams think we cheated and they're on safe ground.

I’d love it to happen Dave, for all the fans.

But I just don’t see it. I think the PL will be desperate for Everton to stay up just to get themselves out of this mess.

lol lol lol

You don’t honestly think this would have any effect whatsoever on the outcome of the appeal do you?

Well lads we could go through the official appeal process involving an actual team of lawyers, but some Fulham mutants sang a song so actually there’s no point is there?

I don’t think there will be many but there has to be at least 2 given back because how can the punishment be worse than going into administration which carries a 9 point deduction?
If the PL/IC turn down our appeal or elements of it and stick at 10 points punishment then they will have demonstrated that they are not fit to regulate the league and its members.
Imposing a sanction not in their own rule book,or agreed by its members, that is worse than going bust defies logic.

I’m not holding my breath about a positive outcome but from any logical perspective the punishment has to be less than 9 points.

I absolutely do. If other clubs supporters had come out in sympathy and booed the Premier League anthem and sung about their corruption they would have panicked. As it is every club is singing songs about us being cheats and knowing what we did there is zero pressure, we're just seen as breaking the rules and then whinging about it.

Where did I say I was a legal expert mate?

I’m defo not,

I also didn’t say that “you” said they would clap. I said it, in a sarcastic manor to stress the point that if Everton were on their way down, then a last minute points reversal sent another team down, then said “other” team would be fuming. We would if it was the other way round right????

That was my simple point, I appreciate it’s an emotive subject and it’s hard to really take in that we most likely will not get the points back, as crap as that is.

I’d love them back for you, me and everyone else. I just don’t see it. I think PL can’t undo this. Which is sad.

It genuinely has nothing to do with other clubs. Not even a little bit.

Yeah, you don’t have a clue what is and isn’t likely. You have absolutely no idea what’s going on in the courtroom, you’re acting out of pure emotion yourself and trying to talk yourself into the worst possible outcome happening so that you can feel like any little is a bonus.

This is a legal case. It doesn’t matter what the Premier League can or can not be arsed doing.

I doubt they'd be emboldened by that. They won't care what other fans are saying.

Generally the part of the football industry that they take any notice of: pundits and the media, have been critical of the PL.

However, it makes no sense to me that this appeal will be successful. It's the same organisation essentially who wanted the threat of member clubs taking them to court eliminated and wanted to pacify politicians ready to step into their bailiewick and start governing for them.

They haven;t assembled an 'appeals' team to undo the work they did a few months ago. There'll be no can of worms re-opened. They'll guts this out to the end, and if Everton get relegated they'll take the criticism on the chin and think that all things told they'd shown how tough they can be.

How anyone believes that lot are going to relent on this even partially is beyond my comprehension. Do they think rational arguments will persuade them? They didn't last summer, so no chance.

Yeah, you don’t have a clue what is and isn’t likely either.

You have absolutely no idea what’s going on in the courtroom either, you’re acting out of pure emotion yourself too and trying to talk yourself into the BEST possible outcome happening so that you can feel like there is some justice in the world.

Good for You mate. I hope we get the points back for you.

It’s literally not, what are you on about? It’s a legal battle.
All of this is about the Premier League trying to avoid an independent body appointed by the government taking over. This is being mooted because of a number of supporters groups talking to their MPs about the state of football. It's got nothing to do with the legalities. It's not a legal case being held in a court of law.
