Apart from Wanders coke misdemeanour have they actually been convicted of anything ?
As far as im aware no.

But lets be honest, its not a lot.

But its the main reason I thought they would sail through, they dont actually have anything that would allow the PL to "reject" them.

Any level headed opinions going?
In the twenty-first century? Surely you jest.

ok. so could we just tell them to sling there hook like they seem to do doing to other people ?
We could, but they do have the cudgel of administration and a points deduction to fall back on. Going through with it wouldn't do them much good in terms of recovery, but they could spite us.

We'll have to pay them back, but we have a lot more leeway for negotiation with them due to their weak position as a creditor. Even if 777 crumbles, someone will buy up the debt for pennies on the dollar.

If not then there is quite literally no point to the fit and proper test.

Disqualifying events

The Premier League has tighter restrictions than the Football League or National League. In general, a businessman will fail the test if:

  • They have power or influence over another Football League club[8]
  • They hold a significant interest in another Football League club[8]
  • They become prohibited by law from being a director[8]
  • They are filing for bankruptcy[8]
  • They have been director of a club while it has suffered two or more unconnected events of insolvency[8]
  • They have been a director of two or more clubs of which, while they have been director, has suffered an event of insolvency[8]

BUT.

In June 2014, Louis Tomlinson, former footballer and member of the boy band One Direction, and John Ryan, businessman and previous Chairman of Doncaster Rovers, launched a bid to buy the club but one month later Ryan was found not to be a fit and proper person due to a lack of funding

I thought it too, praying it didn't sail through tho.
Got to be a decision soon its very damaging all the bad publicity and being left in a state of limbo.
