Dreadful state of affairs. So much uncertainty. It seems we have to be right on the brink to find out if there are going to be any credible alternative buyers. I can understand why they would keep quiet obviously. My concern is that administration would suit Moshiri but this is a road we must avoid going down. He bears responsibility. He must lower his asking price. Really the club isn't worth a bean in actuality. It has wonderful history and tremendous potential but it's just a mountain of unsustainable debt.

lol what the hell are you talking about?

Correct, they're irrelevant to the decision being made.

If the decision is between going into Administration and getting nothing, or continuing on and getting something, you continue on.
Admin means he hands the club over to administration for £0.00. Keeping the lights on might mean he gets, I dunno, £250m say?

So I know what I would try to do.
Im plucking figures out of my anus, so forgive me.

But in terms of numbers.

Admin costs him nothing, he gets nothing.
Funding the club costs him lets say 100m to keep the club going, then another 150m to fund the Stadium, that means hes then ploughed 1billion into the club. That then means his exposure is greater and hes still left with the issue of selling the club.

Sure, its stupid to kiss goodbye to XXX amount for the sake of XXX amount, but what if he really doesnt have XXX amount left? What if his "boss" turns around and says, "This is a pointless exercise" and writes it all off as a bad business deal and moves on.

Admin costs him the ability to salvage any capital from the deal. That is the opportunity cost of filing for Admin.

Using your numbers, if he puts in 100 million now and 150 million to fund the stadium, he needs to make that back at the end in a sale (the 1 billion is irrelevant to the decision at hand).

In your example, 750 million (1 billion minus the 250 to fund operations and the stadium) is the sunk cost and irrelevant to his decision.

The other, more likely example, is that 777 can't close the deal, he finds another buyer, salvages some capital and we all move on.

Cant see why its taking forever, 777 run lots of teams around the world, why should the PL Management be soooooo different to the others?
If I was paranoid perhaps I would think, the prem want us gone, they hoped that the 10 points deduction would put us firmly in the relegation zone, it failed to do that so, they are now holding up the approval in the hope that when 777 are ultimately refused permission to take us over we will be in such a precarious position financially, that we will end up in administration and they can take another 9 points off us.

That of course, would only be what paranoid people would think, but, just because you paranoid, it doesn't mean the barstewards aren't out to get you.

Thats not a likely outcome, thats just simply the best case outcome for him and us.

Based on what?

The only way the club files for Admin is if they run out of cash or trigger some sort of default.

If that happens, a lot of people will lose a lot of money, but most germane to this discussion Moshiri will lose any hope to get any money out.

Admin is counterintuitive for everyone but a prospective buyer. Especially since the club will soon have a window to sell assets.

And what?

It seems like a lot of money to you and me, but to USM, it just digs into their yearly profit.

You were always banging on about the £800m Moshiri has invested into us, you’re now saying he’s not arsed if he doesn’t get a penny of that back and would rather go into administration?!?? For what reason??

For clarity im not claiming Admin is the likely outcome either.

Im saying its a possibility based on many factors, the biggest factor being im not sure Moshiri has the funds "available" sanction free to be able to support us going forward.
