Half finished ground that still needs £300+M to complete
And it's not much good having a 'jam tomorrow' debt for eventual equity if those share are worth tuppence-hapeny a ton
Zero profit to be had
The stadium now paid for.

According to Moshiri(I know I know) he told share holders that the stadium was funded till the end of 2023. The MSP loan is the last 100 mil needed.

Also ITS NEARLY FINISHED not half built

Don’t really know how I feel about these “senior figures in government” getting involved. A government that actively lobbied for the Saudis to get Newcastle has no credibility to judge anything.

It might work out for us if Moshiri has to find a more credible buyer…..but then it might not if he can’t and we slide further towards administration. It’s not a given that more credible buyers would want to do business with Moshiri with his ties to Usmanov.

I’m just not happy with decisions like that on our future being taken by this government. They also need to bear in mind the man they are keeping place if they do try to block a deal, not just those they would block, a man they themselves seem to have under investigation. It’s not cut and dry and I wouldn’t trust them to get it right.

I think I’d have more concerns about the government interfering if we were about to be taken over by a mega rich Middle Eastern conglomerate or something. As it is, these 777 folks sound like a big risk so maybe not such a big deal if they’re blocked. I mean if they are as bad as people make out then we’re possibly heading to administration regardless of whether it’s under them or Moshiri.

But, if govt is going to get involved in these types of decision, they need to do so in a fair, transparent and consistent way. Which let’s face it is never happening lol

I’m swaying towards the ‘how can things possibly get any worse?’ camp. But let’s be realistic here, all this financial talk, strategies, selling assets, etc is, for at least the next 4 months, meaningless. Nobody can be bought or sold now, we have to get a grip on the pitch and get to 20pts minimum by xmas.

Did he definitely say that? Because if he told shareholders that he will be in hot water and potentially criminally negligent. I can't believe he would allow himself to be exposed by that, so I am inclined to believe it. Which maybe our only positive currently.

Still makes no sense at all, if we were supposedly going to be moving on this quickly to a rival firm of there's.

I mean it makes sense, being that it's Everton.
But there is something very fishy about this whole saga.
I agree. It is very fishy.

Also I don't agree with the view that the loans can just be secured against the stadium. If the club goes bust, then the loans taken out to pay the stadium mean the stadium is not an assets its a debt because the loans will have to be paid. People seem to forget the cash is needed for the stadium. Every loan that is taken out to build it, erodes into the extra profit over and above the cash generated by GP. BMD is not an endless cash pit once built.

Apologies, genuine mistake. So they finished, a sharp improvement on the 14th the previous season?

Re Sevilla, it's more to say if people criticize them for that club, some credit to be due as well?

What do you mean by Kenwright must do better? Do we not think, about 25 years of evidence, it may be time to accept he cant?

These awful owners, in 2 seasons, at 1 club have won more than he has in 25.years at Everton.
Standard "improved" so much that their fans are protesting against 777 already. Six games, no wins.

Why would we give them credit for Sevilla's Europa League win when they owned a mere 7.5% of the club? And Sevilla have won 7 Europa Leagues since 2006. Par for the course for that club.

When I say "Everton's custodians must do better", I am saying we can do a whole lot better than 777 Partners. Kenwright needs to go regardless, but let's sell to people with a proven track record of success, not alleged fraudsters with drug convictions.
