You have made that most gracious offer previous and I do recall. So fine, props to you.
The best part, in a way, is Saturday after the museum closes, and myself, the owner of the museum, Dave Brocklehurst MBE, and the museum staff head off to the Jackdaw for a meal and drinks. Great chat for a couple of hours, and I get asked to regale them with stories of my trips to Germany & Austria to interview German veterans of the Battle of Britain, and the things that happened to myself and the other researcher, Peter Cornwell. Police escort out of Hamburg, for example!

I know one of the RAF techs that serviced the Vulcan for the Falklands hit. I was recently explaining how much of a knob head I am because I invented a new ebay account named Sergei and based in Moscow and tried to set up shipping for this...

They didn't wear it for a moment. lol

You've written books? You've never mentioned it before. Please do divulge.

There they are. I've also written several articles for magazines, and provided other researchers/authors with information and photos on the Messerschmitt 110 (you will have guessed that that is my 'speciality) for their works. I'm John Vasco - Portuguese name, born in Liverpool. Great-grandad was a 'mariner' who settled in Liverpool in the 1860s and married a Liverpool girl. Hence, Portuguese name with a thick scouse accent!

Very good mate. Do people read these? Sell many, like? It's not Harry Potter, is it? Bit dry.

No, WW2 military aviation is in the category of 'specialist'. However, print runs run into thousands, so many thousands of my books have sold over the decades, and they go worldwide. I attend various events during the year to be at the publisher's stands, talk to people, and sign copies of the books if they wish. Here's a couple of photos at the IPMS event in 2018.

And at that event, one of the bookstands (Bookworld) that stock my books.
From left: Piotr (the guy who did the cover illustrations to my two most recent); my published, Simon Parry (who is a superb researcher and writer); girl from Bookworld, and me.

So is this academic research or your hobby?

Any books on British or American bombers? 👍

my daughter is studying WW2 history at uni, specifically the allied bombing, any good books you could recommend fella, thanks 👍

You could call it a 'hobby', but it is serious research into primary documents here and in Germany. My full time job was a civil servant for nearly 33 years, so the research and travelling had to fit in around that. I was also a semi-pro guitarist from January 1969 to September 2022 also. Kept me off the streets, I suppose! :D;)
