It doesn't take much. Put in his user name in the search and the word 'book'.

Did you know he's written 11 books and considers himself an intellectual? He's reticent about talking about it 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆
Me, an intellectual? I'm a Scouser from Kirkdale! I'm just an old rock 'n roller! Pass me my Gibson. Er, can you plug it in for me?

Now go buy one of my books, Dglc!

lol
Nope. He was a civilian employed by the RAF at Berlin-Gatow airfield. One of the former Luftwaffe aircrew I was in regular contact with, Karl, told me that when Germany was reunited, it took place so fast that the German military was able to get hold of all of the 'Stasi' files. This guy organised the diaries of the top RAF guys at Gatow, and was passing on their movements to the Stasi. A few month after the wall came down, Karl invited me and my wife to stay with him and his wife in Berlin, which we accepted. While there, he asked if we wished to meet the 'spy', so I said 'Yeah' - I was up for that! So he phoned him and took us round to see him in his flat. An ordinary guy, who saw the chance to make a few extra Deutsch marks, and lined his pockets for years until it all came crashing down around him. I think he eventually got some jail time.

Now who is the fish on the rod biting.

Honestly mate, your "I've written 11 books and am very clever" shtick is hilarious.
You didn't answer my question as to whether you are an academic or not.

Your lot get very upset when what they do is called into question.

Fess up, ginger nuts, are you an 'academic'? Could be worse - you could be a teacher!

Nope, I'm not an academic bud. I do however work very closely with academics. A lot of very good historians for one as well as life scientists, engineers etc. I like throwing out the proper research/legitimate research line, it gets folk nice and het up.

If I do will you sign it?

Brought an American friends book some years ago and he signed it for me. It's a collectors item these days! We all need a retirement fund ;)
Get yo ass down to Hawkinge on 10th or 11th August, and I will! I'll even let you have a piccie taken of the two of us as well! See how wonderful I am, Dglc! You will have met someone famous! Swoon!!!

Yes, As you know, I'm extracting the urine also.

As a member of the Richard III Society (have been since the 1980s), some incredible academic work has been done into the life and times of Richard, not least by Philippa Langley, who was the main driver in finding his remains, and has in more recent times with her research and the delving into old archival records both here and abroad by a team of researchers, gone a long way to prove that the 'princes in the tower' actually survived and moved on to other countries. So I do see both sides of the coin.

However, there is a cadre of academics who are simply up their own ass, just as there are some aviation researchers who are equally so. One in particular who is intensely disliked by the rest of the research community. If we do meet up at Hawkinge, I'll tell you all about him, but not in print here...

This was part of the storyline of 'Atomic Blonde'. (the film the pic of the two babes I used above).

Shame technology has moved the world of secrets and espionage on so massively. James Bond would have to be Q now really, double espresso stirred anti clockwise whilst analysing thousands of lines of code.

Yes I've watched a few documentaries about the Richard the 3rd discovery. It all looks like it got a bit tense, to say the least.

No, WW2 military aviation is in the category of 'specialist'. However, print runs run into thousands, so many thousands of my books have sold over the decades, and they go worldwide. I attend various events during the year to be at the publisher's stands, talk to people, and sign copies of the books if they wish. Here's a couple of photos at the IPMS event in 2018.

And at that event, one of the bookstands (Bookworld) that stock my books.
From left: Piotr (the guy who did the cover illustrations to my two most recent); my published, Simon Parry (who is a superb researcher and writer); girl from Bookworld, and me.
