I've been banging on for years that MySpace deleting private messages has saved so many people in the music industry and this further proves it

Obviously his a comedian but he is firmly in the '00 Camden scene. It's impossible that a few bands are sweating how

We were putting on 'electro' and later dubstep nights at the time in Oxford, in small venues thinking it would be just our mates and we'd just lose money every time. But we got a huge influx from that area of London (you could get a 24 hour bus to Oxford that was very cheap) saying how laddish and awful it was around there at that time

Has he actually been convicted of anything yet or are we dispensing with that little formality?

I'm always very uneasy about trial by media....innocent until proven guilty goes out the door..

Maybe he's guilty, maybe he's not, at this point only the people involved know....

Court cases have the Prosecution side, and then the Defences....this documentary has just one side...

If he's guilty, then let the media go to town on him, and hopefully he spends many many years behind bars...

If these women can tell their story to the media, then why not go to the police..

For what it's worth, I don't like Brand, never found him funny, and he's the type of guy I loath....I hope this goes to the courts....

The danger of trial by media is....what if he's an innocent man?

brand was offered the opportunity to participate in the program. he declined.
the women that gave their side of events to the program did so via hidden identity.
where does investigative journalism bleed into potential trial by media? I'm, not qualified or clever enough to answer that.
I suspect the vast majority of the women he's knocked around with have been consenting participants, 'trophy fecks' a term I recall from way before brand was around, the thing is, was he pushy, was he coercive, now the dam is broken - let the investigations begin and those that want to pursue him for potential misdeeds do so.

Yeah I'm sure there are plenty of awful stories from that Camden scene that might come out some day

The women have probably already gone to the Police and nothing has been done.

We have serious issues in the legal system that only 3 reported cases per 100 actually see a charge.

Thats correct.

Other people on this thread should remember that.
What people have done is formulated an opinion based on his historic reputation, his self confessed drug and sex addiction and an in depth report into his alleged attacks.
It's his own behaviour that has convicted him, no one else.
We know the due process of the legal system, and as most women who have suffered assault or rape would assume, there is little in the way of safety, security or justice for them within it. It's one of the most pertinent points in this thread.

Proper grim that, from the Guardian no less.

I don’t think I’ve ever used the word “slut” even jokingly - if I did my ma would probably smack me round the head for it
Tbf that was the name of the burlesque group she was in,but obviously the writer has used that in a sneaky way

youtube have turned the adverts tap off from his videos.
georgina baillie has turned up on the news twice and said she wasn't abused, and the attitudes around the mid 2000's of slut shaming, victim blaming, and inventing 'shagger of the year' accolades was and is wrong. I don't like her particularly, but on these aspects she's right. Also brand paid for her time in addiction care/therapy.
