I see in today's news an accusation that Russell showed his willy to someone 15 years ago is a bigger story than the government putting pressure on social media to prevent him from...*checks notes*...posting videos discussing government corruption:

It's even a bad Tory doing it...

If you cared/tried to read it, you would see that there is no pressure to stop him discussing anything.
There is pressure to stop someone accused of serious sexual offenses from profiting from those serious sexual offenses.

There's no suppression of "free" speech if that's what you're worried about.

Correct. Same with YouTube’s demonetising, they haven’t stopped him posting, just stopped him earning from his posts.

And let’s face it, that’s not a moral decision by YouTube, simply a financial one, as they’re no doubt protecting the companies who currently don’t want their product associated with him.

Funny how some people want to ignore the actual story to push their own angle.

A woman has accused Russell Brand of exposing himself to her and then laughing about it minutes later on his BBC radio show.
The woman says it happened in 2008 when she was working in the same building as the BBC in Los Angeles. The encounter left her stunned, she says.
Minutes later, he was recorded laughing with his co-presenter who said Brand"showed his willy to a lady".
Neither Brand nor his co-presenter have replied to requests for comment.
WARNING: This article contains explicit details and language that some might find offensive.
It is the first time that Brand has been accused of sexual misconduct and then heard discussing it.

It also raises serious questions for the BBC about how that part of the show, which was pre-recorded, was allowed to be broadcast days later. The woman never made a formal complaint. BBC management was informed about the incident in 2019, but no formal action was taken.

My mate used to do it at least once a week in Lloyds number one bar!! lol

I've seen women flashing their breasts at people in bars too.

While, probably unnecessary and quite gross. He's obviously a complete tool. But flashing someone 15 years a go is hardly worth following up now. There are far more serious allegations to be worried about surely?

It's a matter of duty of care, that he went onto the radio to brag about it immediately after is cause for concern, then it turns out apparently the altercation was reported in 2019 to senior management/production and hasn't been followed up on. What other flashing occasions and threats to feck has he mocked? What other reports have been swept under the rug?

These are the initial stories coming to the fore. He's going to need rebecca vardy's agent at this rate...

True, but the other allegations are probably going to be enough to bury him!!

However, AGAIN, the BBC need to be held to account! How long and how many times will the BBC be found negligent before anything is done!!

Do away with the BBC and privatise it. It's a complete disgrace!

It's very different doing it in the middle of a bar and doing it in a bathroom when you've blocked/locked the door so the person has no escape which is what Brand did. And then telling the trapped person that you are going to f... them

Don’t you think there is a difference between exposing yourself a bar at night when everyone has been drinking and doing the same in an office during the day?

And walking into a bathroom behind a complete stranger and doing it (especially as she claims the door was closed so she felt trapped) is significantly more threatening than being out in the open with other people around.

I agree there are more serious allegations out there but I don’t think this is a trivial one.

Ive never actually known someone personally who did this, but have heard of it being a thing.

On a couple of occasions, have had a mate tell me about someone they knew who would regularly whip it out when in company.

Always thought it was oddball behaviour to be honest.

You can just imagine the response to anyone who protests too - “Just a bit of fun love, don’t get so uptight, I wouldn’t want to shag you in any case”.
