The range of political beliefs is more like a circle than a spectrum, and it doesn’t take too much to go from far left to far right. Both ends are full of loons and burn it all down nihilists.

But the cultural change was 'opposing thoughts at each end of the political spectrum' being drawn together in a sort of anti polarity. I get the full circle but these were never close politically.

Whatever he has done I'd still like to say that his book and interviews on addiction are from the heart and have helped and continue to help me.

His chaotic self harming behaviours he described are something I identified with in a way I had found difficult before.

Sometimes you have to separate the artist from the art I guess, I'm very sad about this whole situation.

I watched a clip of him and Matthew McConnaughey driving round rapping away to it like butter wouldnt melt the other day. His work has become way more acceptable than it probably should have. I remember getting a lot of grief off my Mum for listening to it as a young teenager.

My Mrs made a good point that perhaps the girls that those boys were exploiting are culturally far less able to come forward. Who knows but I think this Russell Brand business has highlighted that there are probably a lot of guys out there who treated women like objects and pretty appallingly abused their power of celebrity. And it won’t just be typically creepy ones like Brand.
