Aaron Lennon ( On Loan January 2015 )

How much would you pay for Lennon in the Summer

  • Up to the rumoured 6 or 7 million - worth every penny

  • No more than 5 million - he's OK, but not worth any more

  • No more than 3 million - he's got no end product ffs

  • Wouldn't take him on a free, he's badly gash

  • Stop asking me questions and stick the grill on

Just a lad that needs a manager like Martinez to put his arm around him and say "Listen Aaron, you have phenominal pace, your decision to join us is extremely pleasing and our squad will benefit from your know how".

Seriously though, great move here. Only a loan so it is a win/win situation.

Coleman and Lennon could form something special.

Pace and work rate.

quite happy about this tbh

a few years ago he was one of the best wingers in the league. he hasnt gone [Poor language removed], just stale. surprised he never moved on from spurs really. suppose he just wasnt quite good enough for man u, chelsea, arsenal

change in scenery could bring him back to those levels, he's still only 27.

I always think the "assists" stat is most artificial of the plethora of "stats" which plague the mindset of a certain breed of modern day manager and fan.

For all we know a player might have put it on a plate half a dozen times in a game for a mis-firing striker and gets credited with no "assists"
You're correct to a certain degree. People become fixated on the statistics of a player, possibly a result of the FIFA and Fantasy Football generation.

A player does not have to make the final pass of a move, or even actually score, to be vital to the overall move. Players can offer different things.

On the other hand though, you could argue for the likes of Fàbregas whose assist rate is phenomenal. That statistic is far from artificial.

Although to be fair Cesc is far from your average player. In laymen's terms: goals and 'assists' are only one aspect of what a player can offer.

It saddens me that people are already almost hoping that he fails, just to justify their own judgements of the lad.
