Aaron Lennon ( On Loan January 2015 )

How much would you pay for Lennon in the Summer

  • Up to the rumoured 6 or 7 million - worth every penny

  • No more than 5 million - he's OK, but not worth any more

  • No more than 3 million - he's got no end product ffs

  • Wouldn't take him on a free, he's badly gash

  • Stop asking me questions and stick the grill on

23 pages here of Spurs fans saying how disappointing he is (most of it written before today) and the final post saying that Everton fans are in for a rude awakening if they think he's any good:

:coffee:

That might be a bit worrying but i think Spurs fans do have delusions of grandure, think there a much better side than they are (not saying they are poor) and possibly think he isn't good enough for the level they think they are at, i.e title contenders

I think he will make a big impact. He`s different to our other wingers in the way he plays. He`ll definitely give us other options.

Maybe. But doesn't mean he will necessarily be any good though. People said the same about McGeady when first signed, despite my being ill...

In case it wasn't painfully obvious, and judging by some of the responses to us signing him in this thread its not, criticizing him before he's even kicked a ball...

with the greatest of respect I've watched him fail miserably at Spurs for many a year. I don't need to see him fail to deliver in an Everton shirt too to form an opinion.

People are entitled to have an opinion about a player. Nobody is slagging him off before a ball is kicked; they're judging him on what they've seen him do for the last 10 years elsewhere.

Of course he'll have our support when he pulls on an EFC shirt, but it's just silly to totally ignore the potential flaws.

If he was as great as some people are making him out to be, he'd be playing week in, week out at Spurs, and wouldn't be going out on loan.

There's a reason why he's ended up on loan at us, and it isn't a positive reason no matter how people want to spin it. The challenge is for him to revitalise his career playing for us.

Seen a Stoke page claim that as he joined us for regular football, all of a sudden Stoke are a bigger threat to Spurs. This is laughable, and embarrassing in equal measure. Stoke, West Ham, absolute nobodies thinking they're a big English club from nowhere.

Let's bullet point it for the soccer mongs on here:

  1. We need a winger, he's a winger.
  2. We need a winger who is direct and with pace, he's got this.
  3. The move could freshen him up like a change can to us humanoids.
  4. He should stop the likes of Naismith and Barklang being played on the wing.
  5. He is not costing a fee and if all the above doesn't come up trumps then we send him back.
This is all true, however those are numbers not bullet points.
