People are entitled to have an opinion about a player. Nobody is slagging him off before a ball is kicked; they're judging him on what they've seen him do for the last 10 years elsewhere.

Of course he'll have our support when he pulls on an EFC shirt, but it's just silly to totally ignore the potential flaws.

If he was as great as some people are making him out to be, he'd be playing week in, week out at Spurs, and wouldn't be going out on loan.

There's a reason why he's ended up on loan at us, and it isn't a positive reason no matter how people want to spin it. The challenge is for him to revitalise his career playing for us.

I agree. And to be honest, I won't cheer and talk up a player in here that isn't any good or producing for Everton. We deserve better. Lets see..

We needed a winger. I'd guess he was probably 2nd or 3rd on our list. But it's a loan...No commitment to make it perminant. I'm sure he'll feel he has something to prove and he's better than McGeady anyhow.

At worst We'v got him for a few months and again at worst is another option off the bench, and allows us to rest mirallas before the European games. At best his pace adds something we'v been severely lacking this season and he plays his ass off for a future move.

Imo he's McGeady's replacement a little early! McGeady will be moved on in the summer. We will bring another quality winger in and dependent on his performances we will make a decision on Lennon.

Has pace and causes defenders to retreat
Winger who likes chalk on his boots so at least won't join the disorganised muddle in the middle we have had in some games this season.
Experienced in English football so won't need to adapt to language/climate/pace/opponents etc and will already know some of our players.
Provides defensive help for his fullback
His wages and loan fee are probably covered by what we were paying Eto'o but without the attitude problem.
Will be keen to prove himself, similar to Barry last season
If he works out we have an option to buy, if not we send him back.
hopefully means Ross or Naisy will only play central roles from now on.

Iirc Atsu plays on the left for Ghana so we might try him there, to date we have only used him on the right. He may also be better suited to the Europa that Lennon is cuptied for. Doesn't look like we are getting Pienaar back anytime soon.

He exactly what Atsu was supposed to be, i.e. fast and direct and able to put crosses in.

Which sounds more like he is a replacement for Atsu rather than McGeady.

McGeady is way too inconsistent, but he has better natural skills than either of them.
