New boy
Aaron Lennon says he cannot wait to line-up alongside the top talent he can now count as team-mates.
The Tottenham winger, signed on loan on deadline day, could make his Blues debut in Saturday's 224th Merseyside derby.
And the former Leeds United man can't wait to provide ammunition for the powerful frontman.
“He is an unbelievable striker,” Lennon told evertontv. “I have played against him many times and I’ve watched him for a few years. Even a few of the Belgian lads at Spurs told me how good he is,
so hopefully, if I get the games, I’ll be able to get some assists for him.
“I think it helps as a winger to have someone like him, who you know will be in the box causing a threat. He is a presence and he’s not just dangerous in the box - he can score all different types of goals.
“I definitely think it helps when you have someone with his ability and quality in there to aim for and to pick out.”
Lennon has been impressed with what he has seen in his first week of training and admires the way the manager allows his players to express themselves.
“It is something I have picked up on,” he added. “If you look at the players here, it’s not just the wide players but the number 10s, the full-backs, the big man up front and even the centre-backs bringing the ball out from the back as well.
“I have watched Everton a lot over the years and a lot this season – they have only got better since I have been watching them. It excites me to hopefully get some games in this team.”
Good little interview. The part in bold is what excited me. A winger who wants to ASSIST lukaku and not out score him. What we desperately need.
