Aaron Lennon ( On Loan January 2015 )

How much would you pay for Lennon in the Summer

  • Up to the rumoured 6 or 7 million - worth every penny

  • No more than 5 million - he's OK, but not worth any more

  • No more than 3 million - he's got no end product ffs

  • Wouldn't take him on a free, he's badly gash

  • Stop asking me questions and stick the grill on

His defensive work sounds ideal for our system. Article went up on the OS today too saying he wants to get the ball to Rom as much as possible.

Whether a player fits the system or not counts for at least as much as a player's individual quality (within obvious boundaries). This could turn out to be a cracking signing for wages only. Let's see.

New boy Aaron Lennon says he cannot wait to line-up alongside the top talent he can now count as team-mates.

The Tottenham winger, signed on loan on deadline day, could make his Blues debut in Saturday's 224th Merseyside derby.

And the former Leeds United man can't wait to provide ammunition for the powerful frontman.

“He is an unbelievable striker,” Lennon told evertontv. “I have played against him many times and I’ve watched him for a few years. Even a few of the Belgian lads at Spurs told me how good he is, so hopefully, if I get the games, I’ll be able to get some assists for him.

“I think it helps as a winger to have someone like him, who you know will be in the box causing a threat. He is a presence and he’s not just dangerous in the box - he can score all different types of goals.

“I definitely think it helps when you have someone with his ability and quality in there to aim for and to pick out.”

Lennon has been impressed with what he has seen in his first week of training and admires the way the manager allows his players to express themselves.

“It is something I have picked up on,” he added. “If you look at the players here, it’s not just the wide players but the number 10s, the full-backs, the big man up front and even the centre-backs bringing the ball out from the back as well.

“I have watched Everton a lot over the years and a lot this season – they have only got better since I have been watching them. It excites me to hopefully get some games in this team.”

Good little interview. The part in bold is what excited me. A winger who wants to ASSIST lukaku and not out score him. What we desperately need.

I actually think if we sign him for a relatively small fee then at 27, a full England international and plenty of talent, he could be Bobby's best piece of business to date.

I'll try not to get carried away though.

I looking forward to see how he does. I'm on the positive side, I think he will bring more balance to the team. I like the idea of him on one side of Lukaku and Kevin on the other. Besic McCarthy holding in mid with Naismith/Barkley pushing on. Hopefully get the full backs going again with Jags and Stones at the centre. Robles deserves to stay in the team. That team would do me.

If as seems highly probable that Mirallas may leave in the summer, Lennon is of the same age, is he a good replacement if we sign him up?

Could do well and surprise a lot of people or he could just be utter crap or he will sit on the bench or in the stands as Naismith and Barkley play out wide instead

His end product had always been his weakness if he can get that right he's going to make a real impact.
