Anyone else think Lennon could be even more effective on the left? Lennon and Coleman are our two fastest players, but when they're on the same side only one will really get the chance to get up to speed. We haven't played with an actual left footed winger all season, and Lennon can't cross anyway so we're not losing much by playing him on the left. Plus he'll be far more dangerous cutting inside at pace because he'll be on his stronger foot. Osman and Baines are both more creative types than Lennon and Coleman, so having one blistering fast player and one more creative player on each side could bring balance to our attack.
I know typically Baines has benefited from having a Pienaar/Osman type in front of him, someone who can play well-timed pass to let Baines run behind the defense, but I think that Lennon's pace and the threat of him cutting inside could have a similar effect.
