2020/21 Abdoulaye Doucouré

Very good player but makes a couple of extremely bad passes each game.

100% he does and in about 12 months we'll need an upgrade. We'll need someone who has the exact same energy and fitness levels but who can pass and then Doucoure would be a squad player.

But he's a massive step up to what we've had even with the crap passes. We've had absolute crabs doing crap passes for about 6 years so he's a massive upgrade on them and then hopefully we'll improve that area again.

I just watched him been subbed during game Thursday again to see lol, and he was running off but almost limping a touch at same time when showing either a touch of pain or just tiredness on his face, so hopefully just Rumours and nothing at all

Aye mate he came off gingerly but hopefully that was a precaution

tbf if he misses Chelsea he was due a break anyway and I'm gonna treat that game as one where if we pick up a result then great. If we can just win the "winnable" games we have left then that should secure EL at least.

100% he is but give Davies credit he's massively improved with Doucoure next to him as he knows exactly what he can and can't do when he's next to Doucoure. There's a partnership between them, a trust. Add Allan and for me they're our best 3.

I was one of those Macca who slated Davies, but he's done the bizz when he's come in, we just have one of those squads were we have our boss players, then we have those players who will have 3 or 4 good games then the rest of the time they are gash

Deffo Lou, we are lacking depth that's sure so when we have injuries there is a 2/3 players who aren't up to it where as some have stepped up ( Godfrey, Davies as examples)

We are on the cusp of something though mate, we just need recruitment to get it right again on the summer.

Honestly when we signed James, Allan, Doucoure and Godfrey in the summer I reckon everyone would have said ( myself included) Doucoure would be the donkey, Godfrey wouldn't get a game and James would be the best.

We've had -

James who has been quality but we know will miss games here and there
Allan been superb but has had a long term injury
Godfrey has been superb
Doucoure took a bit of time to settle but through all the injuries game after game has turned up

I love them all, I honestly can't tell you who has been the best signing so far as they've all done a great job and there's more to come ( I'm a firm believer Rodriguez will win us a few games in the run in single handedly)

Better than Davies...

Totally different style of players though.

Who would I want more in an attacking position? Doucoure.

Who would I want more in deep midfield trying to hold onto the ball? Davies.

Looking forward to a midfield where Davies, Doucoure and Allan are in there together. If Davies recovers for Monday, then I think it's the perfect game to try it.

Would help us be more offensive because Allan would have the freedom to get around the pitch, and also allows our front three to do their thing.

The thing that has frustrated me all season with Doucoure, as good as he has been, is his treatment of the ball as some hot potato. It's a mixture of I think a lack of confidence on the ball and also him trying to speed our play up. Just sometimes thinks if he had more belief in himself to carry it forward, it'd mean there's easier passing options on for him.

Deffo macca, for the first time in a long time I feel we're on the cusp of something big.

by the way mate, how's the missus? My missus is a Man U fan converted to a blue and she's actually feeling sorry for the RS!

She's feeling rough mate, had 2nd jab of vaccine yesterday and it's hit her hard.

Doesn't mean maccavennie won't irritate her like the master banterman he is if Fulham get a result tomorrow;)

Tell your missus to cut out the silly behaviour of sympathy for that lot as well. Won't be long before they're smashing up Rhyl fc coaches and chucking fireworks at pigeons sitting off on the liver Bird building again the scruffy meffs.

We're coming up to our first jab Macca, no hesitation getting it like, but I've heard of a few people after their first jag getting really ill.

When I first met the missus Macca it was the season when we stayed up against Wimbledon, the outpour of sympathy from her and her Manc ticket season holding dad and brother made me want to put a rope round my neck! lol

Don't worry mate, if they keep little Hobbit in charge we'll have our day in the sun. They've been crap for years when you think of thr money they've spent, they deserve to be playing Sunday league togger on Stanley Park.

My missus was sound off the 1st vaccine, just this 2nd one has knocked her for 6. Hopefully I'll be due mine next month mate, no hesitation at all. She'll be sound tomorrow I reckon and she'll be back out there Monday mate helping patients like the trooper she is.

...it’s never been a strength of his, he’s more effective without the ball than he is with it.

Which is obviously what we bought a FOOTBALLER in to do, run around without the ball - and when he gets it, give it straight back. Then run around some more, then give it back.

All the running around he does it to try and sort his own mistakes. The first thing you are taught - VERY FIRST THING, is to retain possession. He doesn't. What is the point of running around a lot if you give it straight back? It's a futile endeavour, but it gives the fanboys something to hold onto, 'he's got a great engine that Doucoure'.

Below average FOOTBALL player, runs around a lot. Doesn't impress me one bit. We could employ Mo Farah to run around for 90 minutes and be equally as effective if that's the case.

Soon as he learns to consistently retain possession and find a blue shirt with a pass I'll change my opinion.
