Apart from the last couple of games (after injury) he has had a decent season. Not brilliant on the ball but is all over the pitch breaking play up and being available. Him and Allan try to actually carry the ball and are forward thinking players, not safety at all costs players. I think he has been a good signing for us.

He's a very safe player. He gets up the field but when he isn't and is tasked with getting the ball forward he's incredibly safe.

When he is at top fitness he has energy which the midfield does not currently have. He can be a reliable box to box player, but does not contribute enough in defence or attack. To push on, he needs to be an option from the bench but not a regular first choice in my opinion.

I don't care too much about stats as they can be twisted out of proportion. I mean successful passes has to be one of the biggest shams with stats. Holgate, Godfrey may have a good rate of successful passes but how many are meaningful passes rather than back to the goalie passes

They do have stats for that

His main attribute is his stamina and I think he has a pretty good football brain. Those two together mean he's in the right position more often than not. I think he could fit in nicely with high level teams because of that, but you're never going to get a massive contribution from him in any particular regard.

Dunno about safe, he gives it away through misplaced passes a lot. But I think this makes him look worse than he is.
