Sounds like the plan would be to play 4-3-3 with Doucoure as the most advanced. I think I quite like that.

Think that could work away from home or against better sides at Goodison and allow a front 3 and wing backs to provide the creativity. Th no6 role is a big hole unless JPG gets going coz Allan is not suited there but would thrieve having JPG & Doucoure in there with him

Wouldn't surprise me if Benitez tells him to stay away while he finds himself a new club. Same with Kean.

…it’ll be a shame if the probable demise of Rodriguez is blamed on Doucoure. I doubt many players in the whole division can match Rodriguez’s brilliance in possession, he does things other footballers can’t do.

We know Doucoure is totally different, in a way more effective without the ball than with it. He has running powers of recovery our other midfielders lack, he’ll get back to stop opposition breaks, he’ll block shots on the edge of our box.

Unless Bulbous Benny is thinking more of a 4-1-4-1 with Allan sitting in front of the defence and Doucoure marauding box to box?
