We haven't one a game under Lampard with him in the team so it might be time to sell.

Joking obviously, but on a serious not I think it's a bit of a blessing that Lampard has been able to start building something while he's injured. I don't think a team relying on Doucoure to perform is going anywhere fast. Well anywhere but down.

Doucoure is definitely an important player but he's not that great at creating chances from midfield, and he's not a great passer either. But he excels at tackling and making simple passes. I don't think we can actually rely on him to create chances.

I think we'll need him to be more of a rotation player if we're going to push up toward the European places again.

Yup. There is a reason why only Everton, and not one of the better clubs, plucked him from Watford.

Hes created the most big chances and has the most assists and goals out of all our midfielders. He has more assists and chances created than Gordon also in less games and only 1 less goal. He's created as many big chances as Gray and assisted more than him and Richarlison. Lampard will definitely be starting Doucoure imo. He's a box to box not a 6. Don't know where this idea comes from that all he can do is tackle?

I like him though. Obviously miles better than Gomes and Davies, who we can definitely get rid of in the summer.

If van de Beek impresses and we can sign him, then having him, Doucouré, Allan (probably good for one more season), van de Beek and Onyango (if he can improve) as midfield options are pretty good. Alli too if Lampard wants to play him a little deeper.

He's a modern day midfielder. Lots of energy and a good engine. These days unfortunately that's more valuable than skill, as the game is so quick.

He was back early after previous injury, and i would usually be pushing for him to be back asap, but the signing of DvB and Ali has taken a load off in there.
Allan cant play 90 every game as he picks up muscle strains constant so may be an option to ease him back in with half hour slots until fully fit.
But he is and still will be a massive player in there for us, if even just to strengthen the high press and give us more legs on the counter.

This man was often our best defender, midfielder and attacker for pretty much the entire season.

If he ups his game the same way other players have under Frank, he starts.

Nobody in our team is irreplaceable and any of them can be upgraded.
Even with a couple of good results.

I'd love to see what Doucoure can do under Frankie. Finding a way to fit him into the side, fully fit, is a good problem to have.

You could, and people do. Obviously you could apply the same principle to any of our players, but Richarlison was a lot more likely to improve than Doucoure was.
