I do wonder if the players just didn’t like Lampard.

Whilst extremely unprofessional, I’d be disillusioned too, if my manager was completely clueless and affecting morale.

Dyche plays him to his strengths and what a transformation. Something Benitez, Ancelotti and Lampard could not sort.
Ancelotti got a lot of good performances out of him but used him mostly for the athleticism, which is also fair.

The impression I get is that he was so busy trying to be everyone's best mate I'm not actually sure how much coaching was actually going on. Things sounded far too relaxed at times.

The rap on Lampard seems to be that he’ll try to be best buds with the players he rates but will totally blank anyone he doesn’t rather than try to improve them, even though that’s a huge part of the job.

Think that’s one of the things that holds back a lot of world class players in their management careers, the inability to teach lesser players than themselves things that came naturally to them.

Every ounce of my substantial built up hatred of him disappeared when I saw how far he sprinted, and how many players he overtook, to get himself into that gaping chasm in the box. 👏

Was excellent yesterday but lets see him string together games

He's always good for 1 in 3 and then has a stinker

There’s a high correlation between him playing well and the games we barely have the ball in because we’re playing on the counter.

He just can’t handle the ball how you’d expect a PL footballer to manage it. Late runs into the box and mis-hitting shots in for goals is fine when the game plan is all about counterattacks but if we want to move to a side that can play on the front foot in possession then he can’t be in the team.

Get to the end of the season and then say thanks but no thanks regardless of what happens.

It really was a beauty of a goal, and the cross to him being inch perfect…….

The fitness levels were through the floor.

Dyche is still working on it now. I remember the one earlier in the season where Coleman sprinted past McNeill, what a calamitous tome that was under Lampard.

To be honest that can still happen - McNeil isn't exactly rapid - defo quick at the start, mind - but has stamina for ages.

I think he's played his way into a new deal, provided we can stay up. One year with club option for a second year would be right.

Oh no, I agree.

But Lampard just didn’t seem to care for fitness. I get it tactically when ex-Pro’s aren’t exactly great, but considering all of these okayed at the top for years, you’d think they’d understand the importance of fitness.

They were all knackered after 15 minutes under a Lampard.

Kane's theatrics have got a lot to answer for. Those 3 and a half games that Doucoure was missing for due to suspension left he in a desperately precarious position.

Thankfully we are on the up and hopefully we won't be seen in that dreaded relegation zone ever again.
