Oh no, I agree.

But Lampard just didn’t seem to care for fitness. I get it tactically when ex-Pro’s aren’t exactly great, but considering all of these okayed at the top for years, you’d think they’d understand the importance of fitness.

They were all knackered after 15 minutes under a Lampard.
Very rarely does it seem they do, or that they utilise fitness training as much, for some reason.

At least the newer ones - older managers have learned, be it by experience or, you know, common sense. Hopefully they've inspired their players - no idea how Kompany or Rooney, for example, are doing in that department, but both their backgrounds are from very fitness-oriented managers so...

Kind of agree.

For every Guardiola there are more than 4 Lampards

For every Ancelotti (won the CL/EC as a player) there are at least 3 Steve Bruce’s

Not literally… 3 Steve Bruce’s would be a nightmare

Yeah that's what I mean.

A lot are "new" to the management game and I suppose we'll see as time goes on, but it's a bit weird someone who was a pro footballer for 10-15-20 years absolutely overlooks physical fitness as part of the game.

Impeccably utilized yesterday didn't have a responsibility to pass the ball alot so I think when he actually was on it he was smarter with the approach. I think it was one of his best performances

I think the goal for Dyche should be to scout the next Doucore because this guy fits his system better than anyone we got. When we have that midfield trio we compete in every game (even if the score doesn’t always reflect it).

It’s to do with “ current trends “ in fitness and conditioning.

You get the feeling some of the younger managers get caught up in what’s ” fashionable “ and want to appear to be forward thinking.

When the reality would probably be taking the best bits from old and new and blending them, to suit the individual team members.
