I reckon any new midfield addition would be a loan, hence the Kalvin Phillips stuff again. Think Gana, Garner, Iroegbunam & a loanee would be enough for Dyche this season.

Can see Phillips coming in late on deadline day for sure.

Gana, Garner and Tim to get through the first three games.

Feels weaker than last season though when you think what a disaster the last two years have been for Phillips. Even in his last season for Leeds he missed half of it injured so compare to Onana missing the odd game with a knock and would leave things really light if he can't shake off the rest. Gana at his age will also pick up muscle injuries and take a few weeks to recover.

None of our deadwood has been. Literally nobody - Holgate, Maupay, Keane, nope. Most of us would like Beto and Doucoure gone too but absolutely no links anywhere. No surprise really as we're the world football suckers and there don't appear to be any other clubs as stupid as us.
Would most of us like doucoure gone? He’s a very influential player who doesn’t cost much

If his wages are £120k a week so that’s £6.2m a year

If we signed someone for £25m to replace him and gave them a 4 year contact on £80k a week that would cost us £10.2m a year (salary and amortisation)

Doucoure is £6m cheaper

He might be a bit ugly to watch but he ticks the boxes both in terms of budget and effectiveness

Very good athlete, very limited footballer. The improvement when he went off was stark. Having said that, Dyche likes him and will certainly give him plenty of game time this season.
I think the master plan eventually is to move to a more fluid three behind the central striker, rather than a battering ram as a 10, which, while not pretty on the eye was effective with limited resources last season
for a mid table placing.

For a low block formation to be successful this will require it to be drilled until it is second nature to the new players involved which means evolving patiently and gradually.

Prepare to don your tin hat!
No one wants your logic here thank you very much.

I don’t know mate, he is horrible to watch , but seems to be effective to are team.

No doubt he has been, but after his hammy went last season he's looked way less effective imo, doesn't seem to have that same intensity or energy to his game as he did.
