When Everton initially went in for Patterson, Gerrard was manager and called Evertons initial bid a" joke". Can you find a way to argue with that..:)

I literally said that happened. What on Earth has that got to do with us purchasing him 2 months later, dealing with a club that don’t involve the manager, who wasn’t even there, for a paltry fee in modern day football. If someone bids £30m for Doucoure tomorrow and Dyche says nah £50m do you really think the club would go “ah yeh no Sean’s right £50m please”?

They’d have to cough up 25+ million to make it worthwhile for PSR. He obviously means a lot more to the cause. The only reason he’d be sold is if Saudi gives him wages that would unsettle him and we’d be forced to sell.
