More like a Faustian bargain. "You will remain in the Premiership, but you have to have Doucoure as a playmaker". "Ebening Jim."The Doucoure Paradox.
….more points gained with him in the team. Crazy.
Simple really Eggs.
Dyches system does not know how to utilise a playmaker/no 10, it's clear we do absolutely no training on offensive dice shape and movement, no runners, nobody creating space.
So we will get more points having a yarddog who runs around in that role, because, in Dyches system that's what's required from the number 10.
Same as Mykolenko and Young as Fullbacks are not expected to provide crosses or assists or go overlap to create space for the wingers inside.
The reason we score so few is we have an entire team setup where not one players prone responsibility is to either create or score, it's all about doing the defensive part - maintaining defensive shape, putting themselves about etc
Zero focus on creating or scoring besides as an afterthought.
.we can do yes, but at the expense if making eyes bleed, he's an absolutely atrocious player - in the number ten role it sums up perfectly why Dyche sides never average much over 40 a season. We look way better and effective when he's in that hybrid role mate, its not just the points without him thing.

Moyes used Fellaini in a similar way at times, it was god awful then too to watch but at least sideshow bob had some technical ability
I agreeI think he gets unfair criticism he annoys people, because he doesn't fit one pidgin hole or doesnt follow the perceived logic or whey people want from a 10 stylistically.
We totally bossed the midfield last night with him making it a three and also no one looked isolated in forward positions last night, that's what he enables. I think singling out one mis placed pass or the like is doing him a massive disservice, he enables so much in the system.
I love Illy but he was really ineffectual last night, trying to dribble and do step overs.
I find it hard to come up with a more influential player for us - in this period were we have been on our backsides over the past four years.
Id be surprised if he changes now as regards to the hybrid 10.
I think frankly, we have proved with our start to the season we aren't good enough to go without him in the hybrid 10 role.

He gets absolutely fair criticism because he offers athleticism and no football ability. It's not about "stylistic" ideologies, it's about a footballer controlling a ball more than once a month, or finding a pass, or doing anything remotely football-like more often (like during the course of a game, not the course of a month).I think he gets unfair criticism he annoys people, because he doesn't fit one pidgin hole or doesnt follow the perceived logic or whey people want from a 10 stylistically.

I agree
Compare his pressing and energy in there last night to McNeil playing in that position in the past couple of games
