Ademola Lookman

if we didn't already have Lookman, and were currently being linked to a 19 year old winger who'd scored in nearly half his first dozen games for a Champions League side in the Bundesliga, we'd already be ordering kits with his name, and throwing absolute conniptions on here when we inevitably failed to sign him.

people trying to tar him with lack of ambition for not wanting to start the season as a sub for a drab mid-table team with no clear direction - after he forced a move, as a teenager, against the manager's wishes, to a more competitive side in a foreign country and succeeded handsomely - are not fooling anybody.

Lookman is a very solid prospect, who may (sensibly) want to play for a better team, where he will get more game time playing higher quality football for a squad and manager more compatible with his playing style.

if this is true, it's certainly sad that after the past few years, we're no longer the sort of club where the more talented young players feel they can best advance their careers.

but that's an indictment of us, and not him.

Reads as if he seems to think Allardyce is still here.

Even if was against abysmal part-timers, he was thrown in immediately in Silva's first game. And I'm sure he would have featured more if not for that mysterious injury.

If he's basing his decision on what went on last season then he's daft.

But if he thinks he's not going to get game time here then he's clearly got a hearing problem because both the Manager and director of football have said publicly he's an important first team player who will feature.

Honestly he was probably turning away from us long before Big Sam. Koeman bought him and gave him a debut in which he scored before giving him a few games and then dropping basically for the rest of the time he was manager

But he still knows he's more than likely go straight in to that Leipzig side, playing European football at a good level. Where as he'll be 2nd fiddle to Walcott and Richarlson now.

I don't blame him if that offer is there. It's not like he's going to Chelsea to rot on a bench.

Aye but Koeman is also long gone. Situation is different now - with both the manager and DoF saying he's part of their plans.

Think he'd play a healthy amount of games for us this season if he stays fit. Probably ahead of Mirallas/Bolasie/Sandro, anyway.

But compared to Leipzig where he'll be a key player it'll be different.

So if he's been sweet talked into going and he's got no real attachment to us, I've got to qualms about that.

End of the day, his loan was successful, they want him, he'll be playing at a high level, and he's a fringe player for us who's never played 90mins.

And we'll get £20mill? No brainer
