Ademola Lookman

You know me, I'm all about the younger players getting opportunities and I was pushing for him to play. I didn't think he did badly or anything, but he also didn't decisively show that he deserved to be in there ahead of Bernard or even Walcott and DCL. He'll get more chances I think, and if he does I hope he absolutely smashes it and leaves no doubts that he should be starting

No he didn't, and I wasn't arguing with you or anything, but also the 3 you mentioned have had extended runs in the team. I was just mnaking a general comment really that I think it's a counter productive to make a judgment about a player after 1 start (possibly it's his first start of the season?) and then consign them back to the bench if they're not stellar

I seem to remember Coleman driving us on in the first half and making 4 or 5 overlaps and getting into crossing positions. He also went into the box to meet a cross from the left wing early on.... Keeper and he nearly crashed into each other. I don't think he did as much in the second though.
I do agree that they are not a dynamic duo on the same wavelength yet, not surprisingly, and that much as I want him to get his chance I suspect that Lookman's natural movement makes him a bit of a free spirit cutting inside a lot rather than hanging out wide to stretch the opposition a bit. That said no one looked very much on the same wavelength as any one else last night. A very frustrating performance after a positive few weeks.

Anyone who thinks he was any worse than Walcott last night is wrong. Just because he doesn't do the same things Theo does doesn't make him worse. First thing Theo did when he came on was give the ball away ffs. Should start again against Watford.

True, at the same time anyone who though he was any better than Walcott is also wrong.

He was fine. Walcott has been fine.

Think that was the most obvious rumour/story/link that was going to happen this Jan window,i would have bet my life on at least 1 thing saying that he would be linked to them again-and as i said over the weeks, his so called attitude change,if he has one etc,was for me down to him having no choice with the window been closed and as said Jan would be the big test of him again etc-I WOULD NOT LET HIM LEAVE FOR ANY PRICE

Oh great, he's top of the threads. Don't tell me we're writing him off after one game? He needs a bit of time to gel. I still think Richarlison, Lookman and DCL should be tried as the front 3 for 2-3 games. It can't be any worse! Only RIcharlison and Gylfi are scoring anyway, so why not.

Doesn't seem to score many.

Who does though?

He currently seems to be able to take the ball past players easily but nothing productive comes of it. When he improves with releasing the ball at the right time, in the right way he'll be invaluable. Decision making under pressure - the only way to improve is to have to do it in real matches. He's worth sticking with to see if he gets there.

..super talented, I just think he needs to simplify his game and concentrate on getting beyond his marker. Often he meanders across the pitch, he needs to go where the opposition don’t want him to go.

He also has a tendency to lose possession, i’m sure that’s why Silva has not been using him away from home.

If you take a look at my other posts around the same time you will see I have dealt with that problem! ;)
