Ademola Lookman

Thought he was excellent yesterday, really has some excellent close control and ability to dribble and make up yards. He is very unique in that he looks for the central channel from wide positions. He will be more a forward in a front three or second striker then a winger for me.

Supreme talent, with lots to learn, if he could learn to stretch teams I could see him becoming a regular.

Didn't see much but from the highlights but he looked a threat.

From what I've seen from the last couple of years, he is one of the very few players who looks good with the ball at his feet.
Which for me is essential for the team as a whole.

Like to know what Silva is thinking.

Lookman, Rico, Bernard, Vlasic are competitively the makings of a quality front three.
With a decent three behind we could be at something.
But I get the feeling about Lookman, as with the others, it depends on whether the coach is good enough to get the best out of them.

I'd go as far to say if Silva can't get Lookman, and Vlasic firing, then there's a problem with the meister.

...I know Walcott is getting a lot of stick for missing the clear chance he had on Saturday, but I love that he gets in those threatening central positions from out wide. He goes where the opposition don’t want him to go. Other than his debut goal v Man City, I don’t recall Lookman getting in those positions at all.

Something to watch out for.

Looks so much more effective on the left cutting inside than on the right. It's typical of Everton that after signing too many number 10s last year we have attempted to rebalance the squad and by solving the number 10 issue, we have shifted the problem exactly one position to the left.

As mentioned last week get him in the team form the start and give him a run of 7 or 8 games in a row. Clear he has something we are lacking

I was listening to Mark Lawernson recenty on the radio on this side of the pond, i wouldnt be a big Lawernson fan, but he said something i found very insightful about Paisley when he was at Liverpool and integrating young players.

When it was thought they could make a contribution to the first team Paisley would go to the young player and say, im putting you in for five games, it doesnt matter if you are bad in one game, you are going to be starter for the next five games and we will see where we are. He said it immediately took the pressure of the young lad, to go out and perform better. He was talking about Rashford, Foden etc and young lads getting bits of games here and there, but i was thinking of Lookman. I found it pretty insightful, it must be hard to get momentum going and anxiety provoking to know that you only have a snippet to fulfill your dreams for lads of limited maturity.

I not saying the above approach is the key to it all, but their are definitely nuggets of wisdom in it and lessons to be learned.
