Ademola Lookman

It's probably good to not that in those 26 appearances Lookman has only actually played 750 minutes or about 8 games worth of time because we refuse to ever start him. I think that's important to look at if you're doing stats and all.

+ hes put the stats down when players played for other teams...not relevant to Everton performances.

Brands has said in the second part of his echo interview that he doesn’t want to destroy the potential of DCL, Lookman and Richarlison by bringing in a big money player who will block their progression.

Thats good news, we can all calm down about Lookman leaving now.

Walcott and Kanchelskis stats are remarkably similar actually...

so again you are chatting utter wham.
Haha, the perfect condemnation of using footballers stats in any argument! To compare Kanchelskis to Walcott is like comparing Messi with Deulofeu, they are both little and both have appearances for Barca, but the comparison stops there. Kanchelskis was world class mate, Walcott isn’t and never has been.

Andrei Kanchelskis 20goals in 52 games
Theo Walcott 6 goals in 33 games

*note that Kanchelskis was poor 2nd season as he was waiting for a move to Fiorentina.

But youre right, spot on, and decisive when you compare Theo Walcott with a world class right winger.

I'll put it down to you never having see Kanchelskis play.

World class.

Kanchelskis is the best player i've ever seen at Everton. But you criticise Walcott for his Arsenal career but dismiss his stats from there also?

Just watched a Kanchelskis video to refresh my memory. Walcott definitely can't do that.

Now compare his stats for US...you know the club we support...where he has worse than 1 in 5...

Richarlison and Kanchelskis are far superior

Thought he had 2 league cups or at least charity shields? :p

I think he was able to have chances laid on a plate for him most of the time...i mean if Kanchelskis or Richarlison played in that Arsenal team they would have been around 20 goals...i would hope.

1 in 5 (or worse, like 1 in 6?) is decent for a player in his position! And he could have had loads more. That's obviously not ideal but I would be more concerned if he wasn't even getting chances but he is.

Richarlison has been playing up front.

Kanchelskis was a boss player, I don't get the weird comparison, one is of a completely different era the other has been playing in a different position.

And charity shields don't count!

You can't just discount a players career by saying everything was laid on a plate for him. That's just mad! He has had a good career and he is still a more than useful player. Even if we were to get someone else in that position we should still be looking to keep him around for now as he still has his uses.

Stats are useless.

I don't think it's a case of refusing to start him. The manager obviously doesn't think he warrants a start yet, there is only one person who can change that and that is Lookman.

No he is right. Over the course of their career they have very similar records goals to game ratio wise.

Of course you have mentioned that you care about what they have done for Everton which is nice and all that but we are talking two totally different sides in two different areas.

Let's just hope Walcott doesn't get us knocked out of the cup by Lincoln after dallying on the ball thinking he is too good for us eh....

Look of course Walcott isnt anywhere close to the player Andrei was, he was a special player.

And its pointless comparing players from different eras, I mean Andrei was a wingforward, even before there were wingforwards, if we ignore back in the day when everybody played 2-3-5 of course, anyway.

Walcott still has a very good goal scoring record and honestly if Lookman can get even close to his stats he will have had a good career.

Great.

More shoddy football while we wait for them to get good.

Stats aren't useless when used in addition to actual watching of the game. On their own yeah they can be skewed to what you want them to say.

Lookman can only do so much if he isn't on the field. What I don't understand and will never understand is why we never are willing to give him a run of at least 3 or 4 games to get into the flow of starting. One game against Newcastle and he's dropped again just like with the managers before. Give him a fair shot at least. Bernard has what 15 starts and he's really only played well 3-4 times but we never give Lookman that luxury.

I think he’s going to be great.

Give him time. Bring him in slowly and once he grows some fairly decent manbush and is able to drink several schooners of VB without giggling and passing out he’ll be unstoppable.
