Ademola Lookman

Or Bernard is just a better player...

Richarlison and Gylfi need to play because they're our goal threats. DCL leads the line.

Walcott offers someone to stretch teams which Lookman doesn't do.

It's basically a straight choice between Bernard and Lookman. Bernard's a better player.

I don't think it's an attitude problem, or at least not fully due to that.

How in his 7 and 13 minute cameos? Or that 1 game where he was slightly ineffective? Walcott does that every game and still plays.

Give him 5 or 6 games on the spin and see then

Walcott has been on the bench the past few weeks and rightfully so. No point having a go at the bloke who isn't playing either. he has been coming on for 10-15 minutes so see the game out probably because he is more experienced.

I don't think Lookman has had a fair go to be honest but no manager ignores a good player for a laugh. It's his job on the line at the end of the day so there has to be a reason for it.

He doesn’t want to be here or work under Silva and I can’t blame him. Good luck to him at his new club, has the talent to be a top player, probably just needs to find an environment and manager that motivates him.

So Koeman didn't play him much, Allardyce didn't play him much and sent him on loan and now Silva doesn't play him much......Yes it is all the managers fault and Lookman has been treated unfairly by 3 managers. Clear as day that Lookman is not impressing. All well and good showing a shimmy once in a blue moon but doesn't justify selection. It is up to lookman to impress the manager in training on a regular basis otherwise he will have a long wait.

Seems very reasonable from Silva and in truth is pretty much in line with the reservations most reasonable people on here express.
A very talented young player that promises to deliver great things but doesn't do so nearly often enough or consistently enough.

I think Silva is trying to change the mindset of Lookman trying to make him understand how hard the great players work for the team defensively and offensively.

Silva’s the guy who’s neck is on the line , who sees the training and what we don’t see. Any manager needs to know that when a player goes on the field , particularly from the bench, that the player is going to implement the plan worked on in training. He is clearly indicating that he doesn’t have that faith in Lookman. Less individually talented players like Schneiderlin and Davies get lots of stick on GOT but Silva knows they are going to implement his plan . I’d be disappointed if Lookman left us with his talent unfulfilled, there’s a player in there and it’s up to him and the coaches to work out just what is needed for him to fulfill his promise.

Think Silva's spoken well there. He's praised his talent and he hasn't come out with any outright criticism, but he's said enough for us to read between the lines that the lad isn't doing enough in training to force his way into the starting 11.

He doesn’t want to be here or work under Silva and I can’t blame him. Good luck to him at his new club, has the talent to be a top player, probably just needs to find an environment and manager that motivates him.

He should be busting a gut right up until the transfer happens. Even if he doesn't see his future here that's what any potential buyer would be hoping to see. I hope he stays but no-one should feel they're entitled to play without earning the right?

I think the writing is on the wall here and he's got to impress before the season end.

Not sure how much he would fetch but with Leipzig we could involve him in a swap deal...although rare this is a time when it may work in our favour.
