TO THE SOUTH COAST

we need to get the wage bill, we will also need to raise funds. If Brands thinks he can’t get 60mil for Lookman, Vlasic & Onyekuru. And buy 2. 30mil pound players in their positions who he’s thinks are better or havevmore potential. And his opinion is the only one that really matters, then he will probably do it.
Who mentioned his wage , because I didn’t. And this policy of buying young and selling for profit, doesn’t just mean players you buy for £40 and sell for a £100 like Richarlison.

Also will include the likes of Lookman 8 mill to 25? Onyekuru 7 to 20 and Vlasic 10 to 20.

And It’s not point in keeping young players who’ve had a coupe of season around the 1st and still haven’t broke in. Sometimes you have to cut your loses. And invest the money better

You did.
I would have agree with you if we don’t have massive wasters sitting around mate, which you continuously side step without giving a thought.
I would like to think building a team is not only about the first 11 and everybody else apart from that is redundant no matter how talented they are. Sometimes I wish people could give young players a chance, especially promising players, instead of deciding they are not good enough after watching 15 mins cameo here and there.

It's not up the fans though to decide if he is good enough. Its up to the manager and coaches. And the current one doesn't more seem to fancy him. Like the previous 2 didnt either.

True.
But, there is mention of an attacking young player from Swansea who is highly rated and a figure of 15m is mentioned.

I think the figure OF 20M-25M is about right given where he is at in his career and I am not sure he has done more to earn us a bigger fee... unfortunately.

40 MILLION

Can't wait to see a start of the flow of wasters out of the door. The management staff are paid to identify and weed out those they see are unsuitable or doubtful to progress enough. We see little or nothing of the fringe players to form any sound judgements. Some will leave and disappear, one or two might make it somewhere else. The wages bill demands action and soon to permit the arrival of better prospects or even a finished article.

Solanke cost £20mil, we can get more.
I feel the Solanke deal is loaded with targets that need to be made for that full fee to be paid , targets which almost definitely won't be met and the amount actually paid will be far less.

Nobody in their right mind would pay that for a player in his position without conditions.
It would be interesting to ask Paul Merson if he thinks that deal could ruin the window ?

Side step are you for real. I missed the word down of the first message. Surely you are clever enough to understand I wasn’t wanting Lookman sold purely to get rid of his wage.
Off course all the players who aren’t good enough need shipping out.

But you say give him a chance, Walcott stunk the gaff our fur 4 months and he still didn’t grab his chance. 2 reasons I would say for this 1) bad attitude and not putting it in, in training, which ironically Silva mentioned this in an interview when Lookmans name came up.
2) doesn’t want to be here, so obviously there is no point in keeping a player who wants gone.

Like I’ve said this will come down to Brands and I’f he thinks he can make a 15mil profit and use that money to buy someone with better potential and attitude then he will do it. You can’t keep these youngsters for ever. The teams that keep the likes of Lookman , kenny, Holgate for years and maybe Davies will be in this group next summer. Are mid table bottom half teams, not teams trying to break the top 6 and eventually get champions league football

Can’t help but feel there is something a miss, several managers haven’t fancied him now, like others have said we can’t just keep these players for ever if we’re not going to use them as they will eventually end up leaving on a free and we have also paid the wage for those years. I can see him going this summer, 20M seems a fair price just put in a few add ons as well.

I think it's about his defensive game tbh, annoying because he can burst through the middle at pace well and if I recall correctly he takes a better corner than anyone in our team. Added to that, I watched back a few highlight vids from this season and in the videos he actually appears, he was invariably involved in goals.

But yeah, he seems easy to suffocate on the wing, and then when you see Bernard tracking back working nearly as hard as Gana and Richarlison doing his fair share, I think that's where the issue lies.

If we can sign someone with higher quality for the same amount we sell Lookman I’m all for it, to be honest 20m is unacceptable when we value him at 25m 12 months ago. Are we really desperate to get rid and lower our asking price? Our most promising young English winger?

The lack of effort is overblown. I don’t see the Schneiderlin level of cant be arse when he plays. I see a young kid trying to make something happen in the final third.

IMO, what Lookman lacks is the maturity to understand the tactical role of winger required by Silva. More so than the lack of effort and ability. This is common amongst young players and I believe he will improve as he mature. I’m sure you will agree he can be a special player if this part of his game improves.

I desperately hope we don’t follow the footstep of what Chelsea did with de bryune, Lukaku, Salah. Too eager to dispose if not good enough for first 11.

Deulafeu was known at Everton as a talented player of promise who could not physically finish 90 minutes. He was shunted back to Barcelona and he failed to meet their standards again so they binned him off to Watford. He has definitely matured and improved there although he is still constantly subbed in the second half of games. It was not meant to be for him here but I would have him back as a bit part player with great talent.
