Exactly, you’re not from Merseyside where the insult “you rat” is common, so why not think twice before throwing harmful accusations at people.

As for the bolasie/donkey comments, I think you need help mate. I remember Ronald Koeman calling Tony Adams a donkey, crazy to think it’s anything more than about football.
We used to call keown a donkey before he became good

Exactly, to say it somehow has racial undertones just because a black player gets called it is crazy.

Its not just being called a rat, its been called a rat in context, what has the lad ever done to have character questioned, gone out on loan and did well, tempted by interest from another club, he didnt hand in a transfer request he remained loyal to the club. The only thing he is guilty off is another club tried to sign him. Every player in our squad at the moment, white or black has their agent going around checking their options, thats the game.

Yet comments on his character, attitude, loyalty are all called into question. As are the lazy stereotypes and not doing enough, he actually made more appearances this year then say Tom Davies, however how both are perceived and attitudes question are completely different. Look at certain narratives this year, "Bernard will be great when he adjusts to this league and when he gets fit" contrast them to comments on Ade "hes lazy, he wants to move, hes a rat". Two players adjusting to trying to be competent players in this league in accordance with their developmental needs. Even if he does move this summer it will just be confirmation bias.

I dont believe anyone on here is racist or purposely is being guided by the color of someones skin when they are posting, i do believe those stereotypes exisit in reporting in the media, its been highlighted by Sterling and its naive to think they dont exist and dont influence perceptinon and subsequently behavior, though and in my opinion that has influenced Ades image. He is depicted as somehow a lazy, unloyal, premadonna and is reported on differently then his peers like, Davies, Dowell, Kenny etc. Is Kenny being called a rat this week because he is linked with a move away, Dowell etc. That reporting in my opinion influences fans perceptions of the lad and we get to here. Again i think people arent doing this on purpose, but racial undertones can be personal, systemic, cultural and societal and their is an interplay between each that may not be purposeful but doesnt mean it doesnt exist and influence peoples perceptions and narratives. But it is in important i think to point it out and to reflect on.

There will be a time i might call him a rat, i think i call Rooney one at least 3 times a week, but it wont be without context or cause.

Marco Silva called him lazy, not anybody on here.

I’ll say it again, we called Gosling a rat because he never wanted to be here and left. Same with Rooney.

People are calling lookman a rat because the perception is he doesn’t want to be here and wants to leave.

The perception might not be correct but this has nothing to do with skin colour or racial bias.

I’m on team Lookman, but let’s be honest, crying racism is a lazy way to dismiss criticism of a player. Let’s stop making this about race because it is distasteful and makes light of serious issues.

I think people are mostly sour on Lookman because he doesn’t say a word. Nothing gets fans more anxious than a player that looks unhappy and stays silent. It leaves people to question his motives and Silva hasn’t really done him any favors with his comments.

This is a Barkley 2.0 situation, but the difference is that Ade is still under contract whereas Ross’s was running out. People want him to commit to the club or leave, and I can understand that in a way after what happened with Ross.

Well documented that he hasn't been great on training and was agitating for a move to RB all last summer, hardly any players will hand a transfer request in these days as they will lose a shed load of money.. So there is 2 massive difference between him and all the other players you have mentioned.

As for the media, we cant control that and I agree completely with what you are saying in that regard, but has Lookman been on the end of this end of media, not to my knowledge, so dont see how it would influence evertonians opinion of him.

As I've said previous "rat" is an insult commonly used in liverpool these days and as far as I'm aware it has no connection to race/religion etc so I dont get the point that the fan base is subliminally calling him it because as he's black. Same as bolasie being called a donkey, not coz hes black but because he is [Poor language removed].

It’s “well documented” yet “we can’t control” the media, see the problem there mate.
