It just does lack quality, look at the performance of German teams in European competition, to a man they all got utterly annihilated by English teams. Leipzig even went out of a Europa League group that contained CELTIC of all teams, and lost to them. We'd finish 3rd minimum in that league.

We wouldn't have last season. Maybe some of our better years we could have but honestly we are nowhere near as good as Leverkusen or RBL.

I don't think those teams would break top 4 here. The Premier League money is pulling away but we aren't at top 6 level yet. But acting like the league is poor and players should be treated like they're in some kind of second rate Eastern Europe league is too far. At least for now.
 
Would snap their hands off for 22.5 million..... my end up decent / maybe not ....but either way it's not happening at EFC for him.
Get shut and move on !

I know what you're saying mate but would you bet your house on those teams beating Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea and drawing with the rs.

The assumption is how well we'd do in their league so no need to worry about that :p

We beat those teams but then also lose to tripe like Fulham and Burnley. We are Everton, we don't do consistent seasons and next season will probably be the same... people seem to have got a false idea of us being better than we actually are because we had a decent run in once we more or less had nothing to play for.

Good when it doesn't matter, bad when it does matter... sums up Everton.

I certainly don't have a false idea of our current status, 55 years watching us, if nothing else I don't suckered into false dawns. But there was tangible evidence of green shoots in the final 3rd of last season, eg defending set pieces and that had nothing to do with having nothing to play for.
