People will use anything they want to justify their judgement of a player. There are plenty of people on this forum who will tell you that he's "oozing with talent" who are only saying that because they've heard others suggest it so often that they assume it must be true.

I'll suggest it because he's been very good in his limited and inconsistent minutes at age 21. The kid has ability it's about someone believing in him the same way Silva believes in Richarlison and giving him the platform to show what he can do.

Worst case for us is this turns out like Sancho has. Attitude questioned because he ran his contract down and got moody that City wouldn't get him in the first team so he runs off to Germany and turns into one of world football's top young talents. Scary thing is Lookman was every bit as good in his loan at RBL. I can't talk myself into this one.

We made a total mess of his time here. He wasn't blameless but I very much doubt he was as problematic as people on the outside are assuming and I doubt he would have been at all if he was on the field more. 25m is a decent amount and enough to potentially salvage the situation but time will tell how much we regret how his time here was handled or if we regret it at all.

The one DOF bought him and didnt ever pass final judgment. Unsworth doesn't count really. Allardyce. Koeman was ok with buying him orginally. Brands refused to sell him cheap. Only really Silva was overly negative on him and he still said that he thought he was a top talent multiple times. It doesn't feel to me like any thought nothing of him but none believed in him enough to give him a real chance either. We will see what happens now.
