At the end of the day, I dont think the potential has ever been doubted, but the ability to build on this with consistency on the pitch has. He can go past players with ease and I think we all wanted him to succeed, but for every time we saw say, that appearance in the Cup game at Anfield, or the trickery against Chelsea away, there were too many times he was simply ineffective give and it comes to the point where the Club have to make a decision. For me, his best performances were for England u20s when he was played centrally, maybe he feels hard done by and promises were broken - no idea - but by the end of the season he wasn’t considered for a national squad of his own age group having been replaced by younger players in his favoured positions.

Keeping him around the place is no good to anyone if he can’t get on the pitch....and for many weeks he couldn’t even get in the match day eighteen. That says a lot to me......the talent gets you nowhere without the application mantra seems to apply to a large extent. Maybe his career will take off in Germany, but let’s be honest there weren’t a queue of suitors either. So good luck to the lad. It didn’t work out here, but we take the fee and look to reinvest it elsewhere. Seems there aren’t any tears from either the player or club on this one. We move on.

Please do, I remember the same with Rom and Delo. They all level off mate.
It's a different situation though for me because Rom was genuinely class when we sold him and we gave Del chances in a way we didn't with Lookman. Also Del wasn't really sold by choice. We didn't waste then in the same way we possibly did here.

Frustration comes from when Walcott was afforded chance after chance even when he stunk the place out most of the time.

But works hard, smiles more, etc etc.

Hopefully not a Sancho/Gnabry MK II.
People will go crazy at this but the gap in starts between him and Bernard was honestly a bit insane too. Bernard was more reliable but Lookman could have hit higher levels if given more than 3 tries at starting a match.

Both were party to the same thing though, "told you so's" posting when they had a good game and then disapearing when they were, gash which was more often than not in the end.

My source said he had heard that Lookman had met a lass over there who's studying hence she couldn't move over to England which is why he's so keen to stay in Germany full time.

If so can't blame the lad really.

Good deal for us and another off the books.

Thats without doubt the worst reason iv come across thus far. You should be ashamed. :whip:

Imagine leaving Everton with our history to join a mid table German team that was only created 10 years ago.

It goes to show how much the world of football has gone mad.

Tidy profit on a player who gave us nothing and may never improve.
