So we got offered £25M last season and turned it down; now £22M is accepted?

His contract has ran down by a year nor did he do much to warrant an increased fee sadly. Whether that was through not being given a chance, poor attitude or a mix of both is unknown however.

So €26m but surely Charlton have installed a % sell on clause

So 15% would be €3.9m but still a profit.

Hopefully we have installed 20/25% clause to the deap

I don't think we did get that offered last season. I think we got under offered and the rest were add ons IIRC. We wanted £25-28m and wouldn't drop lower.

Now his stock has fallen and we've taken a £3m hit I suppose. Not great business but Silva clearly believed he could get a tune out of him last year. Didn't work out.

Shame, but as some have said he wasn't stepping up. Not given a run of games as hoped for, however if he wasn't the best of trainers he's not giving the manager a selection headache. This time next year we'd be selling anyway as he wasn't going to sign a contract extension (even if offered). Take the money and re-invest it in the squad. Things starting to progress now

Chalk this one down to unfortunate circumstances boys. Had he been signed under Silva or Martinez, or had Unsworth been kept on until the end of 17/18, Lookman would likely have got much more game time so we really could have seen if he was worth the hype.

17/18 was a very tumultuous time at the club and for any player it could be disenfranchising and disillusioning.

Hope he does well in Germany.

Same applies still

Look, they had a year to try to get him to buy in to what we are building. Only Silva and Marcel know the real story. If they feel like the time is now to cut your losses (in fact, cash in) and move on then so be it. No reason to leave that cash on the table for a player who could turn into a cancer in the locker room.

The club that's signing him had him score 5 and assist 4 in 11 games on loan for them. If we had a 21 year old on loan do that we would be over the moon to sign him 25m.
It’s not like he hasn’t had the chances to show his worth here though.
He couldn’t get on the bench ahead of a 30 year old Walcott most weeks.
