He’s done nothing here. He’s shown flashes of his potential but nothing more. He showed some promise coming on as a sub a few times but I can’t recall a single game that he’s started where he’s been better than a 5 or 6/10.

£22m is good business considering he contributed next to nothing last season.

And he played very little.

Three of those being Koeman, Allardyce and Unsworth.

Dunno. He has his favourites.
I don't know where this myth that he didn't take his chances came from. For example he gets stuck in the group that has to go play that meaningless game in Cyprus. Remember we are playing like dog turd at this point. He goes and plays hard and scores twice in Cyprus. He then gets 50 minutes of playing time before being loaned out including the second half at Anfield where he sets up the equalizer with that great run. And somehow it is totally on him he didn't get into the team?

Maybe found his level.

And one assist at Anfield, wow let’s build him a statue next to Dixie.

So, genuine question, why do you think he never ‘got his chance’?

Certainly can’t be his age, we have one of the youngest starting 11’s in the league.
Richarlison is 6 months older and has taken his chance.
DCL also.

Can only be his attitude in training especially, 4 managers didn’t fancy him. If your not gonna put a shift in at training don’t expect to start or even get a game. Can imagine he was difficult to work with.

If he’d shown enough in training to warrant game time, he would’ve gotten it.
Even Niasse managed to force his way into the team under Koeman, after being told he wouldn’t even have a locker.

The clearly all had it in for him. As soon as he leaves he will automatically morph into Ronaldo V2

Given how poor we were at the time it was more than enough for him to start games. Instead we got Gylfi out wide, Bolasie and him on loan to RBL which is what starts us down the road to selling him.

And then I hear he didn't take his chances and that he got plenty of opportunities. Regardless of what you think of him that last part is clearly untrue.

I think it is a combination of us having carthorse managers who would rather pick the winger who tracks back over the better attacking one and him growing frustrated at the lack of time affecting his play. I think if he was given consistent time and more room to make mistakes he would have come through and that never happened. The way Richarlison is trusted by Silva is what Lookman needed from a manager and instead he got hollow words from both Koeman and Silva.

If you put a mirror between this situation and Gomes making a perm move, it proves that sometimes things just dont click.

Barca thought Gomes would replace some genius. Didnt. Came here on loan. Clicked. Deal done.

Its the exact same thing. We invested a few bob, to say the least, in Lookman. Didnt work. Went on loan. Clicked. Deal done.

Reckon Barca boards are crying in case Gomes came good here? No, me neither.
