It is exactly like that. It’s not like he hasn’t had the chances to show his worth here though.
He couldn’t get on the bench ahead of a 30 year old Walcott most weeks.

I don't know where this myth that he didn't take his chances came from. For example he gets stuck in the group that has to go play that meaningless game in Cyprus. Remember we are playing like dog turd at this point. He goes and plays hard and scores twice in Cyprus. He then gets 50 minutes of playing time before being loaned out including the second half at Anfield where he sets up the equalizer with that great run. And somehow it is totally on him he didn't get into the team? And he played very little.
Three of those being Koeman, Allardyce and Unsworth.
Dunno. He has his favourites.

So, genuine question, why do you think he never ‘got his chance’?I don't know where this myth that he didn't take his chances came from. Can only be his attitude in training especially, 4 managers didn’t fancy him. If your not gonna put a shift in at training don’t expect to start or even get a game. Can imagine he was difficult to work with. So, genuine question, why do you think he never ‘got his chance’?
Certainly can’t be his age, we have one of the youngest starting 11’s in the league.
Richarlison is 6 months older and has taken his chance.
DCL also.
If he’d shown enough in training to warrant game time, he would’ve gotten it.I don't know where this myth that he didn't take his chances came from. Given how poor we were at the time it was more than enough for him to start games. Instead we got Gylfi out wide, Bolasie and him on loan to RBL which is what starts us down the road to selling him.Maybe found his level.
And one assist at Anfield, wow let’s build him a statue next to Dixie.

Spot on ladsCan only be his attitude in training especially
I think it is a combination of us having carthorse managers who would rather pick the winger who tracks back over the better attacking one and him growing frustrated at the lack of time affecting his play. I think if he was given consistent time and more room to make mistakes he would have come through and that never happened. The way Richarlison is trusted by Silva is what Lookman needed from a manager and instead he got hollow words from both Koeman and Silva. So, genuine question, why do you think he never ‘got his chance’?
