Ademola Lookman

My source said he had heard that Lookman had met a lass over there who's studying hence she couldn't move over to England which is why he's so keen to stay in Germany full time.

If so can't blame the lad really.

Good deal for us and another off the books.

I mean this is almost certainly nonsense but I would be deeply disappointed in the young man if he wasn’t dispatching German girls left right and centre whilst he was there on loan. Very attractive women there.

On a footballing note, not remotely arsed, good profit. Brands strikes again.

Point is mate, no matter how many stats and metrics and stuff you lob around, sometimes, clubs and players just dont work out.

There are tons of examples.
That is totally fair but I don't think we can advance as a club if the ones who don't work out are going to often be young, high potential types like Vlasic and Lookman. I mean Kean if he were smart would be asking serious questions of our strategy in that area if he had sense. We can't afford to turn into a club these types of players can't trust for development.

sad to hear that he is leaving, he will be very successful in Leipzig, good luck kiddo

Or. Young players will see that they will get a chance, and if they dont work out, we will not keep them "In case" they do. Its a brutally short career.

And these players have been in development since they were 8.

You can't promise something like that though

What if he stunk the joint out 5 times in a row?

I agree it would have been nice to see him play more, but you can't make promises about guaranteed game time because if a player gets out of form then you're stuck playing them

A better way would have been to give him more time off the bench and if he did well in some sub appearances then letting him start a few and taking it from there (Which Silva could have done when he kept persisting with Walcott instead)
I would have played with 10 men rather than watch Walcott

I think an important thing to remember when criticizing his and also Vlasic's attitude is that they are 21 years old. Not everybody is going to be fully mature at that age. Some of them might still have a poor reaction when things go there way. Part of management is dealing with that and helping them along not casting them aside and calling them out in public.

I don't think any young player is going to look at Vlasic and Lookman's "chance" and think that they'd be happy if they got the same chance. Kean got a similar number of minutes as Lookman while backing up Ronaldo this year. Lookman was backing up Bernard and Walcott.
