Given how poor we were at the time it was more than enough for him to start games. Instead we got Gylfi out wide, Bolasie and him on loan to RBL which is what starts us down the road to selling him.

And then I hear he didn't take his chances and that he got plenty of opportunities. Regardless of what you think of him that last part is clearly untrue.

He didn’t get chances for a reason, clearly.

His attitude was brought into question last season by management after they had told him pre season he had a future.

Football is fickle, if he was pulling up trees in training he would have been played, it really is that simple.

Looks like you are just trying for an angle to question management, who see him every day in training and work with him every day, unlike yourself who’s seemingly excited about an assist and a brace against some Cypriot farming XI.

If you put a mirror between this situation and Gomes making a perm move, it proves that sometimes things just dont click.

Barca thought Gomes would replace some genius. Didnt. Came here on loan. Clicked. Deal done.

Its the exact same thing. We invested a few bob, to say the least, in Lookman. Didnt work. Went on loan. Clicked. Deal done.

Reckon Barca boards are crying in case Gomes came good here? No, me neither.
Barca also have the ability to sign Frenkie De Jong and Arthur instead. Can we do similar and get in Malcom or Pepe? Maybe but it definitely isn't as easy for us to mess up talented youngsters and just reload with some different ones.

Was willing to give him a fresh start last season, new manager who’d shown faith in him and a clear new direction for the club overall. Sadly, he wasn’t willing to give himself that fresh start.

£11m profit on a player that contributed next to nothing for us and didn’t look like he ever wanted to. I’ll have some of that.

I don't know if you liked us or if you've ever liked us, but all I know is that I like you and I've liked you since the day you wore the Everton shirt. I know we've never seen eye to eye but at around 1am you cross my mind and I'm just going to miss you so much that my stomach is going to tie up in knots and hurt. You won't ever come back and that's okay but oh man, I'm going to miss you.

He also has torn through the defenses of Spurs, Liverpool and Chelsea at different times. The two things I don't like are people acting like he was given a fair shake, he wasn't, when he had his moments he almost inevitably ended up on the bench quickly, and acting like this is good business when it could very easily not be very soon if he finds form. And I will still believe the attitude problems were a reaction to being repeatedly misled and overlooked by management than him being a bad egg.

Point is mate, no matter how many stats and metrics and stuff you lob around, sometimes, clubs and players just dont work out.

There are tons of examples.
