Ademola Lookman

I don't think any young player is going to look at Vlasic and Lookman's "chance" and think that they'd be happy if they got the same chance. Kean got a similar number of minutes as Lookman while backing up Ronaldo this year. Lookman was backing up Bernard and Walcott.

Here’s a thought, young players that come in and apply themselves would get a chance.

5 goals and 3 assists in 11 games in Germany isn't nothin. Solanke had 1 in 21 for the RS

The reality is Liverpool report the top level fee but they often sell at much much lower initial prices with loads of add ons. They also pay agents a huge fee to find buyers for said players. If you broke the Solanke deal down wouldn't be surprised at all to see if it were something like 8 million down, around 4 million in attainable bonuses (England call up, 25 PL goals etc) and probably another 8 in unattainable bonuses (Bournemouth win league, Bournemouth get into CL, Solanke gets Golden boot etc). I'd also wager they probably pay an agent 5 million pounds to do the deal.

Suddenly you will be looking at something like 3 million down, 4 on the drip and the rest not likely to come. The way they report it though, means they can proclaim themselves the net spend champions to go along with all the other meaningless titles they award themselves.

A good price for a player who did very very little for us last season. He'll do well in Germany but definitely not a PL player.

Three managers have had a look at this lad and none have given him consistent game time, says to me that he doesn't work hard enough in training to earn his playing time. I'm perfectly fine with selling him at a profit and reinvesting the money into the forward line.

That is totally fair but I don't think we can advance as a club if the ones who don't work out are going to often be young, high potential types like Vlasic and Lookman. I mean Kean if he were smart would be asking serious questions of our strategy in that area if he had sense. We can't afford to turn into a club these types of players can't trust for development.

It’s about attitude. People have spoken again and again, about Lookman and his so called attitude. People have been in denial about this.

It’s clear that he’s had chance after chance and yet we’re still hearing this. No smoke without fire. The lad has bundles of talent, and I wish him luck, but it’s just not meant to be Ademola Lookman and Everton.

Vlasíc and Lookman are two separate entities, vlasic instantly hated it here, Lookman never recovered from the loan.

Somehow they've had no trouble applying themselves at other clubs though.

Yeah mad how that works isn’t it, that players want to play for some clubs and not others. I was positive ever single player ever has been 100% committed to every club he’s played for.

My point is maybe the management at our club shares some of the blame

The management that never gave him a chance was long gone by the time he came back from his loan. Silva fought to keep him last summer for a reason. But he couldn’t be arsed and the manager lost trust in him around Christmas time.

The attitude thing stems from one Silva quote, Allardyce fuming that he disobeyed him and went to RBL instead of Derby and bunch of people angry that he doesn't smile enough. It's overblown.
