Would have preferred binning Walcott first but he never really wanted to be here anyway
Think with some of the silly fees being thrown around I was expecting a higher fee but in reality it may have only been the energy drink scruffs in for him anyway

I'd be pleasantly surprised if anyone buys Walcott. He's finished at the top level really and has no need for another move (he's been very shrewd with his money). He'll retire here in two seasons or so.

For the record he signed £7.5m In Jan 2017 before add ons. So in terms of his contract had run 2.5 years of 4.5. So 2 years left. Leaves just over £3m book value. So good profit on this one... don’t know Charlton’s take of course.

Absolutely. 100 grand a week because you used to be rimmed by the English media 6 years ago. Life ain't fair

This by an absolute mile. If I was Lookman I would be running for the hills watching the garbage we delivered for more than half a season and he didn't get a sniff... I truly hope he goes for his own sake, and makes our management feel like Chelsea for letting KDB leave. Idjits.

Bit weird, you're an Everton fan, if he goes you should want him to be a massive failure and then we can laugh how we had leipzig off with £25m.

It brings me no joy to see a player prove us wrong and make us look silly. Although tbf, that's never really happened.

Imagine replacing this waste of space with Malcom or someone like that.

Malcom also sitting on the bench then? Come on chaps.. that’s not what’s happening. It helps fund it for sure.. but one of the actual playing staff will be forfeiting their starting spot. Say goodbye to Bernard in the starting 11. For another thread that point. That who is being replaced.. not a bench warmer.

Sad to see him go but we better have at least a 20% sell on clause as they will end up selling him for about £80/90mill in 3-4years.

I like to think I’m objective. I don’t hate players that want to leave if they have given their best while here, I don’t turn on players that have left and forgotten how good they were. I also like to give loyalty to players as much as we like to receive it from them.

In this instance I’m putting myself in his shoes. But i admit I’m frustrated at another talent leaving before we have seen enough of them to factually make a case either way.. so all we can do is debate our perceptions. So cos I’m on the side that feels he is talented enough I want to be proven right... no skin off Everton’s nose to be right apart from missing an opportunity to have a great player.

To your point, we haven’t been proven silly yet. But even now, we have received a very good fee for this point in time so we clearly appreciate his talent and potential. We might still regret it if he is the next Sterling.

Walcott literally got picked as a sub over Lookman. Also football is a team game requiring rotation. The better players you have the more effective and the less detrimental the rotation. Lookman was clearly a bad apple and was barely even involved in that.

I think saying he’s finished is a little harsh.
Scored 6 and assisted 2 in all comps last season.

Certainly we need to move him on and upgrade him, but could probably do a job for a team lower in the league.

I think the issue is, that we wouldn’t get anywhere near what we paid for him or what we got for Lookman. But it may be more sensible to keep him as back-up and cash in on Lookman to bring in a better 1st team option.

Harry Maguire - £80million in 2019.

If he develops as he should and taking into account the price rises each year, its a conservative estimate.
