Lookman's Everton goals per season reads 1/2/1. With just the one league goal he got within a few minutes of his debut. Are we supposed to be in mourning for him or something? I didn't get the memo.

He did nothing here, he didn't track back well, he lost the ball constantly, but if we are to believe some people if we kept playing him he suddenly would have turned into Henry. I suppose if we did keep playing him things would have been easier in the championship...
 
I love how people’s argument for Lookman is “he showed flashes of talent” yeah, as a professional footballer I kind of hope he did.

If your first criticism of an attacker is about tracking back then you are doing it wrong

If you aren't doing anything going forward you have to at least offer something in defence. He was used as a winger most times and that means you have to track back. Ancelotti said you have to have multi roles in modern football, you can't just sit out the game waiting for a pass. Or you might be able to but you've got to be Thierry Henry good.

But it shouldn't be the first thing. Or your wings end up being Sidibe and Bernard. We have not balanced it right.

Leaving us was the right move. RBL was not after being gone a year and having the club change the manager and back room up while he was gone. It was always going to be tough for him to break through.

Had he knuckled down here a year ago like he should have instead letting his head go elsewhere he'd be starter by now, and possibly working with Ancelotti (who knows how it would affected Silva's fate).

Destined for a career as a mid-table winger at best.

Nah he got dropped for no reason and lost interest. Silva sat there and said he couldn't leave because he was a big part of the team and then refused to give him minutes. He isn't blameless but the management was horrible and it's hard for me to put to much on him for being frustrated when he was forced to do something he didn't want to do and lied to by the people who forced that on him.

I'm saying that the way Mourinho balanced Hazard in terms of defense and attack is the proper way to handle wingers. It's honestly not Lookman related at all. Just wingers in general.
