I am unsurprised that a man of your perspicacity was so soon to note the physical similarity between Carlo and ‘Potty’... kudos for that although I reckon Potty was a little more ginger. And I am altogether at a loss as to Carlo’s camping credentials ...just because they look somewhat alike, I do not think you can conclude Carlo gets homesick like Potty. Potty was like a big girl’s blouse that week in Ngrahuwahia...wouldn’t stop blubbering

I once clattered into the goal post with such force it made my entire body stiffen up - so much so that I had to be subbed off and spent the rest of the game lying prone, getting movement back. It was almost like I was ‘thawing out’.

It was one of the most bizarre episodes Ive had on the football field but not a patch on whats happening here with old Potty I can assure you.

That is very interesting tale: thank you for recounting it. And I think you (modestly...as is your wont) underplay its bizarreness. But I guess it’s an apples-oranges comparison. For myself, looking back, I am not proud of how my 10 yr old self reacted to Potty’s incessant blubbering...I think I called him a big sissy and said he should wear a dress.

Him and Deulofeu are massive upgrades on Iwobi, Bolasie & Bernard.

Our business out wide has been shocking.
You are selectively choosing to forget all those games that Deulofeu offered nothing going forward and even less tracking back for 60 mins until he ran out of go and just stopped.
Vlasic never really got up to speed in the Premiership so wasn't given much of a chance

I always thought Vlasic showed something. Scored a few goals in his first season coming from a farmers league. I get why he left as we looked like a totally sinking ship and Allardyce and Silva didn’t instill anyone with confidence but I’d have liked us to have hung onto him
