To be fair the lad was frozen out a lot, he played well in some games and wasn't seen for weeks after.

For me the lads talent isn't up for debate, hes very talented, but there's something not right with him, managers just drop him, for no real reason that we as fans can see.

Koeman treated him poorly as he was a fat ming, but Silva gave him a second chance, started him quite a lot in that season and he was very much in the manager’s plans. That’s the season that his poor attitude really stood out for me, he was given the opportunity and wasn’t interested. We made the correct decision to sell him when we did.

He had a problem with sitting on the bench for no reason. It could have been Everton, Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, RBL, Montpellier, Cagliari, Real Salt Lake, Red Star, Ulsan Hyundai, or the Newcastle United Jets the guy was not going to sit around and watch a terrible attacking team from the bench.

And as our managers were the ones leaving him out they bare some of the blame. It would be different if we had better players that kept him out, as it is with Kean.

He had plenty of game time in Silva’s first season, and did absolutely nothing. You only had to look at his grid when he was coming on as a sub to be able to tell he had no interest in making the spot in the team his own.

Silva gave him three league starts. Six if you include the cup starts. That's just a laugh out loud revision of what happened.

And I don't even think you can say we did sell him at the right time because we probably had a better off the previous summer. That's what is amazing about this whole thing. We both botched developing him and botched getting max value out of it!

So why do you think we didn’t sell him the previous summer then? Could it be because... wait for it... the manager wanted to use him?? Mental concept.

Ok well he didn’t fit into our system so we bombed him out, don’t know what the meltdown is for in here really.

Systems. Remember we had about 17 different managers in that time. Funny how many he has had and failed to impress.

On the whole no

There is no 'on the whole' between Richarlison and Lookman. Richarlison is clearly better in every category...by miles. Including having a strop. Which Lookman should have down to a T with all the practice he has had.

But he didn't. So somewhere along the line he was dishonest about it, and it cost us.

No he wasn’t dishonest about it, the reason he stopped playing him midway through the season is because in the games he’d actually played he’d completely stunk the place out and displayed abysmal attitude and work rate. Look at the state of his face when he scored that goal against Lincoln in the cup, I wouldn’t want to be depending on that sort of player either.

That's just not true. Richarlison is one of my favorite players but it is dishonest to say he doesn't have flaws. If he could become more consistent on the ball outside of the penalty box he'd be nearly unplayable.

His first start that season was December 5th. You don't insist on keeping a player because he's needed and do that.

And we didn't really celebrate either goal against Lincoln. I remember that bull crap when it started. Bernard scored his first goal for the club and was largely unmoved as well because it was a League 2 side.

Beyond that we also just aren't arsed about the early FA Cup round anymore. No one cared last weekend either right? Should we bin them all too? It's just kind of manufactured.

Obviously his attitude in training was the reason he wasn’t starting games then. It’s clear what happened, Lookman tried to force a move to Leipzig in the summer of 2018, we could’ve easily sold him then because they wanted him and even had a bid rejected. We rejected the bid because we had plans to use him in the first team, however he sulked and downed tools so the manager gave up on him.

And that's poor management for me. I'm sure you disagree.

How is it poor management? Why would the manager persist with starting a player who clearly wanted to leave from before he even walked through the door and wasn’t going to change his mind?
Persist means continue. You can't continue something that you never start.
