he's infuriatingly inconsistent.
He looks bright when he comes on but doesn't do it when given a start.
The lad needs to take the next chance he gets as he's clearly got the ability

Needs to start really. Frustration with him is he does well in these sub appearances, gets a chance at a start and then isn't positive enough so drops back to the bench. As much as I like bernard, walcott and think once either of them score they will score fairly consistently, they aren't doing it at the moment. Lookman deserves a chance at a couple of starts now and see how he goes. Thought dcl did well today on next to no service so would be good to see him richy and lookman across the front 3 next match.

Is this a serious reaction? Kyle Walker is a pretty decent defender and couldn't get near him and Walcott missed the best chance of the game that he served up.

He’s the only old fashioned, proper winger that we have. I’d say Bernard and Lookman are more inside forwards but Walcott hugs the touch line. I’m not saying Walcott is the answer but he certainly isn’t the problem.

He hasn't started on the left where he's clearly more effective... yet.

It's becoming a serious strike against the manager that he can't see who our most effective creative player has been so far this season.

Sit on the bench for 5 matches, start a match. That cycle is difficult to perform consistently in too. I just see a promising young player who could become very useful for us. Nothing mythical about him.

Bernard and Walcott have been doing that for weeks but they still get given start after start if Lookman doesn’t pop up with a goal or assist he’s not getting another chance but the other lads get all the time in the world

The myth is people thinking he’s some world class footballer. He has skill and pace but struggles with awareness and decision making, still needs to be used from the bench imo

Yeah he gets one chance from the start and one chance only then will get written off for another month if he doesn’t get a goal or assist. Give him 2 or 3 on the spin, a fair crack at displacing Walcott or Bernard, and he’ll make things happen.

Yep we've all seen it. He had his one and only chance from the start and deserves no more ever.
